The reason Ireland is taking its stance on Israel/Palestine is straightforward:
Ireland was conquered, colonised, murderously subjugated, starved by the British.
That breeds a level of empathy and solidarity beyond most other European nations, many of which were colonisers.
To sum up, Israel is conducting genocide in Gaza, ethnically cleansing the West Bank, and massacring civilians in Lebanon, all at the same time. The violence and chaos that the Zionist regime perpetrates is staggering in scale. It must be stopped and dismantled.
Jewish filmmaker Sarah Friedland accepts award at the Venice Film festival.
“I am accepting this award on the 336th day of Israel’s genocide in Gaza and 76th year of occupation…I stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine in their struggle for liberation.”
36 years ago on 21 February, 1988 Aidan McAnespie was murdered by the British Army.
An innocent man shot in the back by a British soldier on his way to the Gaelic ground.
His late parents John & Lizzie campaigned for Justice for their son in a dignified manner for many years. RIP
