One reason I’m often praised as a fantastic host is my ability to think 10 steps ahead to tackle unanticipated problems. Whenever I’m planning an event, I ask myself, “What could possibly go wrong to disrupt this day?” Then I put measures in place to prevent it.
Thats why it grinds my gears when people cannot do the basic work of just thinking to anticipate obvious problems.
Take these guys at Vein Lagos, for instance. They knew for over a week that Burna Boy would be attending with his car and that the car would be one of the night’s main attractions yet not one person thought to ask, “This car sits extremely low to the ground; how do we ensure it can enter the venue without scraping its underside against the floor?”
Burna Boy partying with his car was the entire spectacle yet these guys made absolutely no provision for the car itself. I genuinely cannot stand the anyhowness of most Nigerians man. You have to teach people how to think, how to anticipate the obvious and, far too often, how to use their common sense.
Marriage will really make you become a person you never imagined you would be.
When I newly got married, I was deeply rooted in a Pentecostal church, while my husband is Catholic.
Because I was the new wife, I followed him to his church. Honestly, I was lost at first because I wasn't used to the Catholic way of worship.
I then tried convincing him to follow me to the Pentecostal church where my family had been worshipping. He followed me for some time, but eventually told me, “I'm the one marrying you. You should be the one to follow me to my church, not the other way around.”
Somehow, this became a problem between us.
I eventually got tired and stopped going to church. Every Sunday, my husband would dress go to church while I stayed at home.
One day, he told me, “If you continue like this, worshipping your own church without following me, then you should consider packing your things and leaving my house.”
That was when I knew this thing had entered another phase. 😂
So, I started following him to his church.
Today, I'm not just a member of the Catholic Church. I'm the secretary of the CWO in my parish.
Sometimes I just sit back and laugh at myself.
@temij_ To be fair, I only saw one of them running like a clown and I couldn’t even watch the video out of secondhand embarrassment 😂. But looking at some of their faces I guess some people are being fake lol.
Either way, you’re strict o!
You definitely should tell all your friends you are getting married and they should be a part of it ( elopement aside). Just tried to give the lady the benefit of the doubt and hoped she only went to court or something… and it wasn’t a partially secret wedding
This week alone on twitter-
- Dates shouldn’t be stressful.
- You don’t need to tell your friends you’re getting married.
YOU PEOPLE ARE RUINING HUMAN INTERACTIONS!!!!
If you like listen to twitter. People are going above and beyond for people they care about in real life. Toh.
That aside, the concept of secrecy in friendship very strange, but I think sometimes there are reasons why people hide their good news due to superstitious beliefs. Whether a friendship should completely end because of it is another topic …
@temij_ But all the jesters in the videos seem extremely happy 😅.
I’d be upset perhaps if some people attended the secret wedding and I didn’t, or she told some people and not me (specifically if we are quite close) but this doesn’t seem to be the case for this particular bride 🙃.
Noticed that some of our local IBs used integrated energy companies as comps to value a pure-play refiner in their Dangote Refinery reports. Prolly explains why the EV/EBITDA seems elevated. Still maintain that the FV of that refinery is no where near that $60bn.
Fun fact: Jeff Bezos remains the largest individual shareholder, holding roughly 8.2% to 8.8% of the company's outstanding stock.
Aliko Dangote holds about 87% of Dangote refinery.
If theres 24/7 light and each portion is adequately defrosted and heated just once, the taste doesn’t change.
It’s the constant freezing and thawing and re-warming of a single container of food that causes a change in taste.
