We ordered two Wheat Lachha Paratha, batch no A104-09, with expiry date 11/9/26 and manufacturing date 4/9/26. When we fried and sat down to eat the paratha, we realised the taste of this was off, there was a really bad after taste and rotten taste.

The Government has clarified that consumers and small merchants do not have to pay extra fees to use Unified Payments Interface (UPI). As for large merchants, they can increase the price by the extra fees. So consumers and small merchants do not pay extra fees, only extra price.

This is the Office of the US Trade Representative 2026 report, page 272.

It criticised the NPCI, the org that operates India's retail payment systems, saying that it is creating "a non-level playing field" in electronic payment services.

What followed? ☺️

The UPI payments in India have been free for the public.

Then on Monday the Govt introduced Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

This was followed by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra said that “someone will have to pay the cost” of UPI transactions. ☺️

Today this bill was passed. It now brings UPI and RuPay debit card transactions under MDR charges.

Point to be noted, Since 2020, the Govt, mandated that transactions on UPI and RuPay debit cards would not attract any MDR charges.

Then why this sudden shift? 🤔

Now apart from Marchants, our ordinary people transactions that exceed ₹2,000 in value, maybe charged 0.25-0.4% of the transaction value.

Delhi Police denied but RAF fired pellet gun at protesters on the directions of a Delhi Police officer, general diary entry at Parliament Street police station, accessed by The Hindu shows.
It says that to control the crowd during Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest on July 20, “on the orders of the DCP,” the RAF Deputy Commandant fired 55 rounds of non- electrical shell, 15 rounds of electrical shell, five tear smoke granite, two rounds with plastic pellets from an anti-riot gun.
