Samsara is like a boundless and fearful great ocean because it is filled with many different types of suffering, just as an ocean is filled with many strange creatures.
This is because it prevents the main obstacle to our Dharma practice – the laziness of attachment to the things of this life – and it encourages us to practice pure Dharma right now.
If we catch anger as soon as it arises in our mind we can easily counter it with non-hatred, but if we leave it to develop fully we will find it very difficult to stop. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Our delusions are so strong that they are constantly compelling us to commit negative karma, which causes us to take rebirth in samsara again and again.
"In general, "Buddha" means "Awakened One," someone who has awakened from the sleep of ignorance and sees things as they really are. A Buddha is a person who is completely free from all faults and mental obstructions."

Sheep falling on their backs happens a lot — and can be fatal. It typically happens to pregnant sheep, more vulnerable to falling over.
If you find a sheep like this, grab a good handful of wool and turn it around. You could save a life of a sheep. 🙏
Je Tsongkhapa says that self-grasping is like an iron cage in which we are trapped, and that to escape from it we have to realize emptiness; that is, we have to realize that the object of our self-grasping does not exist. Without this realization samsara has no end.
Anger is like fire. If we detect a fire as soon as it starts it will be easy to extinguish, but if we wait until it has taken hold it will be very difficult to control. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
The reason we develop delusions naturally, whereas we have to apply effort to cultivate virtuous minds, is that we are very familiar with delusions. Our minds have been acquainted with delusions since beginningless time and so deluded mental habits are very deeply ingrained.
While some chose to throw bricks, others build with them. However troubling a situation, look for the people who are helping; you'll always find them x
It is important to distinguish the seeds of delusions from the imprints of delusions. The seeds of delusions are the substantial causes of delusion. The imprints of delusions, on the other hand, are not causes of delusions but the effects of delusions.
This woman faced down the rioters in Southport last night with a clear message: their racism wasn't welcome. Let her bravery be what is remembered, rather than the shameful scenes of fools embarrassing themselves.
