@oldenoughtosay Our house was painted when we got it (a light sort of greyish greenish color with a black door) and it needs painting next year and I am not looking forward to the $$$$ or the dog being absolutely insane with people outside HIS house.
@DanielKWatkins1@teigMusic@molonlabemama@useful_emetic Bookstores aren’t hiring managers. They are getting rid of managers and hiring more part time workers in order to avoid paying benefits. And even if you are a manager, it’s probably also going to be part time and not going to pay the bills.
@oldenoughtosay Oh god. We had some sort of pantry bug infestation this summer and had to declare Pantry Bankruptcy and I hope it’s a one off for you. It sucked in the summer but a holiday week is horrific.
@shaindelr We adopted a shelter dog 2 weeks ago. He’s 1 or so and I keep telling people he was picked up after breaking the law when he was on rumspringa.
@TalentedAndHot@CoraCHarrington That’s how fashion works - denim was workwear until the 1950s, Dickies are primarily workwear but now have a fashion line and even sell scrubs, Carhartt, Wrangler, etc etc. all start one place and move into others. Frequently the trend of those brands begins in music.
@LouisPeitzman 1.) Longer pants are very fashionable right now. 2. If the mood strikes you, you can always cuff them - which is also huge. (Source: my 23 yr old daughter works retail right now and made my husband buy some longer pants.)
@oldenoughtosay Hijacking the thread but we were at the Whitney Biennial a few days ago and there was an Isaac Julien installation on the “poetic restoration” of African art. I kept thinking “where have I seen that museum recently?”
It was the Pitt Rivers.
