@FrnkNlsn Good book, only thing is for matrix calculus they should teach differentials like Matrix Differential Calculus by Magnus and Neudecker. Differentials make matrix calculus so much easier.
@ilyasut After reading the eight page proof of the Riesz Representation theorem in Papa Rudin, and finally feeling like I understood it, this is the last thing I wanted to hear.
@minus_1984@pickover Yes there is an algorithm created by by Simon Plouffe to do it for any base and Bellard improved this algorithm so that it is faster. What they don't mention is that the time the algorithm takes to compute the nth digit is O(n^2) so increases with n. https://t.co/jKp00z0kBe
@GuillaumeCL@typedfemale 10,000 hours is 416 days and you are not practicing 24 hours a day. That is 8 hours of practice every single day for almost three and a half years or 4 hours of practice (more likely) every single day for almost seven years.
@luis_pupuis@marktenenholtz Its also about building knowledge that lasts. You are better off in the long run to learn important concepts that have stood the test of time like math fundamentals rather than learning how to use some framework that will almost certainly change in a few years.
