@HolySock@Skyfrom5to7 Profits continually dwindle and overproduction crashes the system. The capitalists solved this by expanding to find new markets and more labor. Capitalism has spread across the globe and has nothing left to do except redivide the world (world war) or increase their exploitation
@HolySock@Skyfrom5to7 Expansion โ Imperialism. Imperialism is a qualitatively different stage of capitalism with no ground left unexploited. Now the imperialist powers bicker over the redivision of the world. The capitalists weren't aiming to "achieve imperialism", but were expanding as necessity
@HolySock@Skyfrom5to7 Colonialism โ Imperialism. Imperialism started developing in the late 19th century I believe and we still live in it. Yes it is american hegemony, but we're still imperialist.
I hate when folks appeal to Marxโs stances on historical events. Not โcause I think Marx was stupid, but because even a basic understanding of historiography will tell you why one should not blindly trust even *GOOD* 150 year old scholarship when new sources have since emerged
@AliceBright_ Cool and if letting them live allowed the white army to rally around them? This would've been disasterous. The bolsheviks had to weigh the lives of these children between the lives of thousands and the whole revolution.
The woodpecker tongue is an excellent case study in the evolutionary principle of exaptation: the co-opting of an existing trait for a wholly novel purpose.
I think some people aren't really understanding, it's not about corporations actually giving a fuck. They never did. It's moreso an indicator that it *used to* be seen as profitable to signal allyship, but that's just not the case anymore, which is sincerely concerning
So Mississippi just introduced a copycat law of the Tennessee trans ID law, but with the addition that any cop that sees ur ID doesnt match ur natal sex has to report you to FUCKING ICE
Center Right, Center Left, Leftist...aren't y'all embarrassed using these meaningless identity labels?
The defining question is what class interest the party you organize with and vote for represents. Once you ask it you'll realize that most people side with imperialism.
alienation is perhaps the most important part of marxism! it's the conduit to the real world. i've turned far more people into communists by explaining the procedure of alienation than i have via elaborating dialectical materialism.
Just got exposed for my role in the coverup of a major scandal and had to resign in disgrace. My legacy and political future are completely tarnished. Iโll forever be remembered as a crook. Pineapple with cottage cheese and warm milk.
My least progressive take is that I, as an Iraqi, should be allowed to hate the American Military without someone constantly bringing up that there MIGHT be a soldier "of colour from a struggling background" (1)
