@elonmusk@DrewPavlou Shame on you !!!! Whipping up racial hatred for your own ends. Police make bad judgement calls all the time in pressure situations. This is nothing to do with "two tier" or "anti white" attitudes. You should know better !!!!
@robprogressive Bollocks!!! The allowance is Β£12,500 for income and national insurance and the basic rate up to Β£50,000 is 20%. The student thresholds vary but that graduate would be paying an effective combined income, NI and student loan rate of around 25% not 57% !!!!
@campbellclaret Of course they do. In the context of a possible Burnham premiership, shallow and vapid as he is they still fear he may well return profit flows to the state and the people rather than private often foreign owned entities. I doubt that he will, but they know for sure Keir wont!
@vulpine2020 Cutting spending would be disastrous. Removing liquidity from the economy. Tax cuts are not relevant. Tax is only necessary to recycle currency. The answer is more government spending to stimulate growth and support public services
@MiltonFriedmanW "Benefit", and thereby hangs the flaw in Friedmen's economic views. Indeed the desperate pauper will sell their kidneys for a bowl of rice to survive another day. Both parties "benefit" in Friedman's warped world. His economics exclude "humanity", which is what makes us!
@mikewinddale@barua_82 Doh! I can read fine. You just post gotcha soundbites without engaging in any intelligible way. You think you have real world experience when in fact you live in an academic theoretical bubble echo chamber. Fine. Well done you! But you have nothing to contribute to a real debate
@ilhandogus@barua_82 I just had a long twitter exchange with him and had to mute him in the end as he doesn't engage positively just posits various orthodox technical phrases which clearly have some very specific meaning to him then challenges me to prove him wrong. We just go round in circles!
@mikewinddale@barua_82 At this stage I'm going to have to assume you're some sort of bot that simply contradicts everything I say even if you end up contradicting yourself. So bye bye
@iealondon@DanielJHannan Taxes don't fund spending. Taxes control inflation and redistribute wealth. It's perfectly doable to tax the wealthy and simultaneously sow more seed corn in the economy and pay for all the public services required if you are a sovereign currency issuer, which the UK is.
@mikewinddale@barua_82 And this has been the narrative for over 40 years. So I don't know what text books they've all read but they don't seem to understand the capabilities of the machine they're operating or more likely they have a political interest in keeping the public misled over how it works
@mikewinddale@barua_82 In fact no politician or favoured (at least by the media and press) economist in this country even ever talks about resource constraints. The entire political narrative between the main parties is a) how to cut the deficit by either cutting spending or taxing more.
