Gerry Conway has sadly passed away at the age of 73.
He is known for co-creating The Punisher, Ben Reilly, Firestorm, Jason Todd & more iconic characters.
He also wrote one of the most iconic comic stories in history — "The Night Gwen Stacy Died"
Better Call Saul fame Michael McKean, in an interview, shared a really insightful take on Chuck McGill that kind of changes how you see him.
“I feel like I really understand what drives him. At the core of Chuck’s pain is his relationship with his mother. He was the one who made her proud, the successful, dependable son. But Jimmy… Jimmy made her laugh. And that’s what stayed with Chuck. That difference cut deeper than he’d ever admit.
It bothers him because he sees Jimmy’s ability to connect with people as something almost ‘magical’, effortless, natural, something you can’t learn. And for Chuck, that’s frustrating.
Here he is, incredibly intelligent, disciplined, and highly respected as a lawyer… yet he feels like he’s missing that one thing that truly makes people gravitate toward someone. And in his mind, no amount of success can make up for that.”
