I really hope the Edmonton Oilers fans sincerely appreciate the $12.5m contract Connor McDavid signed to try and win them a Stanley Cup before he comes to Toronto.
The guy left a LottoMax jackpot on the table to give you one last chance.
You all better love him forever.

I'm likely in the minority on this, but the longer I work in politics, the more I think there should be more restrictions on voting in general, let alone being an MP or Senator.
Why should a welfare recipient living in social housing have the same voting power as someone who runs a company, creates jobs, & pays property taxes?
At least half the country gets money from the govt in some form. That's an inherent bias to vote for parties that will give you more, no matter the consequences to the economy, others, or future generations.
In case this seems vague, Canada has:
June: Pride Month.
June-September: Pride Season. (This is "summer" in other countries.)
October: LGBT History Month. Just in case you missed something during the previous four months.
November: Transgender Awareness Month. For those still unaware of what took place from June-October.
January: After a breather for Christmas and New Year's, we have International Day to End Conversion Therapy on January 7.
March: Bisexual Health Awareness Month. Don't ask. Also, March 31 is the "Transgender Day of Visibility," in case there was not enough awareness raised in June through October.
April: International Day of Pink. Mandatory school stuff.
May: International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia
And we're back in Pride Season again.
Mitch Marner could have been a Hurricane last year, but he vetoed the trade 😱
Around the trade deadline in 2025, then-Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving approached Marner about a potential move that would've sent him to Carolina in exchange for Mikko Rantanen. Marner refused to waive his no-movement clause, and remained a Maple Leaf for the rest of the season.
After departing from Toronto and signing with Vegas, Marner finds himself on the losing end of a battle with the Canes in the #StanleyCupFinal... 😬
(H/T https://t.co/BHQ58EkW9r)
Back in March it was reported that Marner refused to be traded to Carolina (knew he was walking to Vegas for free) and it cost the Leafs getting Rantanen in return. Fast forward a year later he loses his chance at the cup to the SAME team he refused to be traded to. Leafs end up winning the 2026 draft lottery instead. What a poetic outcome. Karma is real lol
Canadian teams that lost more games than they won in this year’s playoffs:
- Senators
- Oilers
- Canadiens
Teams that did not do that:
- Leafs
Some teams just have a winning culture.
SABRES:
✅ sing along to O Canada
✅ love Labatt and Tim Hortons
✅ welcome everyone from across the border
HABS:
❌ tried to separate from Canada
❌ eat "St-Hubert's" or something
❌ will send you to jail if you speak English
I know who Canada's team is
Makes me sick that up-and-coming teams like the Ducks, Flyers, and Habs were instantly rewarded with joke matchups against washed-up husks of teams while the Leafs' young core were essentially condemned to a seven-year gauntlet of cup finalists right off the bat every damn year
A husband was just stepping into the shower while his wife was finishing hers. Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
The wife quickly wrapped herself in a towel and ran downstairs to see who it was.
She opened the door, and there stood Bob, their next-door neighbor. Before she could even say hello, Bob looked at her and said, "I’ll give you $800 right now if you let that towel drop to the floor."
The woman thought about it for a second. $800 for just a few seconds?
That's easy money, she thought. So, she dropped the towel and stood there for a moment. Bob looked her up and down, handed her the $800, and went on his way.
Feeling pretty lucky, the wife wrapped herself back up and headed upstairs.
When she got back to the bathroom, her husband called out from the shower, Who was that at the door?"
"Oh, it was just Bob from next door," she replied.
"Great!" the husband said. "Did he say anything about the $800 he owes me, he said he would pay today"
