When we visited the Leicester Academy with the SundayShare group, something a coach said stuck:
"Sit in the silence."
When a player is trying to solve a problem, the temptation is to jump in and fix it. LCFC resist that and lets the player wrestle with it.
Uncomfortable. But that is where the learning happens.
The latest Michael Carrick practice has been added to the collection and is available for everyone.
5 balls - 1v1 duels. Animations included to explain the rules of the practices
Amorim pointing out the real issues this last year:
"Recover position, fight for the ball, running. All the small things."
Some Man Utd said the problem is the system... Now they are repeating what Amorim said bar for bar with Darren Fletcher's back 4.
Good to know off something I've tested similarly. A team touch constraint based on tempo, 2/3 touch action must be followed by a 1/2 touch one.
Makes players think of the movements and solutions desired for different combinations.
A unique constraint I'e never heard of:
"Players are limited to 1.5 touches – that’s to say a maximum of three touches between two players."

One of the most enjoyable parts of coaching- you plan an activity to facilitate a certain problem, but end up with something that encourages more than you expected.
In “Too Much Pressure,” an activity I have used before in various iterations, including one from @PeterPrickett, we asked players to invite pressure to one side in order to exploit the space behind.
In this iteration, players were encouraged to look for situations when the defenders were sleeping on the line to find ways to break through, opening a lot of different combinations and deception.
@MeiaArmador__@TooKawsome They tried to sign Baleba, after signing 3 forwards.
They can sign someone still, after signing 3 forwards.
Criticize for not signing someone sure. Prioritizing, boring narrative.
@MartienBall + GK, mid is legitimately on our agenda this summer as indicated multiple times.
Mindless criticism of the order of business + fantasy scenarios where we are deliberately ignoring signing a Baleba/Wharton is painfully annoying from the experts.
@WakoCD_ And for the attacking quality required from the wing backs it's a massive problem. Our depth is basically Dalot on either side.. Mazraoui, Shaw (yet to play WB) and Leon is too raw.
Still a massive gap for the system but won't even be addressed with CF, CM and GK still priority.
@JamesTactics It's because at United the quality, tempo and intent of play is technically far below required level. Has been for over a decade under every coach/system.
People moan about "what" they see (passing, playing out) rather than the "why" and "how" other teams do it better than us.
