Anyone in the market for a book on seismic design of buildings? Happy to announce that the 4th edition of @ICEpublishing's book that I co-wrote with Edmund Booth, "Earthquake design practice for buildings", is published today. https://t.co/FDQDBBCfk1

@maxdickins@DomStich@ChapsChoir Wife reading your book: "This is so you!"
Me: "I know, that's why I wanted you to read it....
Wait, which part?"
Wife: "Getting Extra Hot sauce at Nando's"
I didn't expect the Toxic Masculinity parts to resonate quite so strongly!
@maxdickins Read half of Billy No-mates today and it’s only 1pm. Came for @DomStich and @ChapsChoir content, stayed for the hilarious and insightful. The most I’ve laughed out loud reading in yonks!

Looking forward to the Mallet-Milne Lecture next Wednesday with Prof Alain Pecker! The lecture is a great opportunity to learn from a leading expert in geotechnical earthquake engineering. We hope to see you all there, and at the reception afterwards.

@aimeemcn I’ve forgotten which is British and which is American (and long since forgotten how it’s used in Nz) so safer just to use a different phrase!
@aimeemcn Aside from the actual error in this case, it's one of those phrases that means the opposite on two sides of the Atlantic, so is a little dangerous!
