@LBC you could reduce headphone dodging by requiring devices to have headphone jacks again... wired headphones start at £7... far cheaper than bluetooth headphones
@LBC electric arc furnaces work by using scrap metal whereas blast furnaces make new steel from raw materials. There is not enough scrap metal to meet steel demand
@LBC Ali, the declining birth rate will mean there will be an over supply of housing eventually which will mean house prices will drop unless they start demolishing them to keep prices high !
@DavidLammy@LBC David, The big problem with an Electric Arc Furnace is it can make steel from recycled steel but it cannot make new steel from raw materials. You need a blast furnace for that. Blast furnace slag is also used to make low carbon concrete. That will stop.
Parcel delivery firm DPD have replaced their customer service chat with an AI robot thing. It’s utterly useless at answering any queries, and when asked, it happily produced a poem about how terrible they are as a company. It also swore at me. 😂
@damoslim if you change the % of elements you remove each iteration then that can change the solution, but if the incremental change is small enough it always gets to the same result.
Imagine if you started with a solid block... then put some forces on it... then told it where the support points were.... and then nibble away at that block until the optimum structure was formed.... That is what the Nibbler app does that I've been working on. #Engineering
@LBC Tom, one option is a debt jubilee... everyone gets £25k to get through current crisis... including those without mortages... that way nobody is left out. Debt jubilee's were common in days gone by. Google it
@JibbaJabb@LBC i agree that personal responsibility of taking out a loan without factoring in much higher interest rates is virtually non-existent today... but that doesn't help solve the issue.
@JibbaJabb@LBC before you dismiss it outright, have a look at historic debt jubilees. I agree money printing is bad, but please have a look at effect of historic debt jubilees to reduce system debt while not disadvantaging savers.
