I’ve been repaying my #studentloan for 10 years. I graduated owing £26,000. Today I owe £28,000. I pay £190 a month through my salary, but £220 is added in monthly interest. I’m paying every month, yet the balance keeps increasing. How is that fair?
Neil’s narrator adds:
Since the Brexit referendum the UK economy has grown faster than Germany, France and Italy, which are all still in the EU. So much for the Brexit drag.
The higher inflation, higher interest rates and poor fiscal position are overwhelmingly the result of the economic policies of previous Tory governments, exacerbated by the current Labour one, which continued to borrow too much, tax too much, spend too much. Hence the UK’s high gilt yields. Brexit didn’t even have a walk on role.
Wow. The British state is utterly incompetent.
Brand new data ⬇️⬇️⬇️
80,264 asylum-seekers were refused asylum in Britain last year. How many did the state deport? 11,629.
7,330 Afghans were refused. Only 115 deported.
1,269 Eritreans were refused. Only 64 deported.
876 Ethiopians refused. Only 15 deported.
4,374 Iranians refused. Only 80 deported.
The British state is truly useless.

It's all falling apart for Zack Polanski.
He claimed to be a spokesperson for the British Red Cross. He isn't. That was a lie.
He claimed to be a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy. He isn't. Another lie.
He's a dangerous, dishonest, unhinged, far-left fantasist.
Never-here-Keir is off again. Yet another flight all while his government is in total free fall.
This time he’s in Armenia talking to the ‘European Political Community’ whatever the point of that is…
You’re the energy secretary. Yet you don’t seem to know that BP’s ‘excess profits’ come from its global oil trading division, which is not subject to UK ‘excess profits’ windfall tax, not from its North Sea activities, which are. Remarkable.
Hats off to the @Telegraph for exposing Labour’s Attorney General for who he really is.
Lord Hermer pursued a witch hunt against decorated British Armed Forces personnel despite being told the allegations were false.
It is utterly treacherous for the Government’s chief lawyer to persecute loyal servicemen who risked their lives for this country.

Oh dear Keir
Looks like your old pal Hermer, is taking you down with him…
“In a detailed 40-page witness statement, Lord Hermer set out the Prime Minister’s role in establishing case law that effectively opened the floodgates to hundreds of claims brought by Iraqis against the Ministry of Defence.”
What goes around, comes around
I still can't get my head around this. We currently have a prime minister, in office, who has
Broken the ministerial code
Repeatedly lied to the public
Repeatedly lied to parliament
And put our national security at risk.
He should be dragged out of No.10 in cuffs
GET HIM OUT!
Very damning criticism of Keir Starmer by Olly Robbins.
He now claims that Keir Starmer didn’t follow the “due diligence process, which threw up serious reputational risks”.
Keir Starmer told Parliament and journalists that he did.
He misled Parliament. Lied to us. Resign.
Political editor @BethRigby analyses Sir Keir Starmer's statement in the Commons over the vetting process for Peter Mandelson's appointment as the U.S. ambassador
