The plan is to have many different "sub modes" under the parent paintball system.
This one for example is the typical "Turf Wars" mode where you can defeat enemy players normally but the ultimate goal is to have more of the map painted.
Then we can explore different maps and different modes like the traditional Deathmatch, etc.!
@danbagh Cool this sounds fun. Splatoon is one of my favorite Nintendo games. What about doing something along the lines of some of their ranked modes as a mini game? Something like tower control could be fun.
There are ordnance planned yes. Currently a bomb and turret. The paint brush has a signature ability already just like the Mace weapon in Hytale where you slam down after jumping in the air dealing AoE damage and paint splatter. Exploring possible signature abilities for the main weapons as well.
The current plan is you can mix+match your main weapon and ordnance.

Everything is fully configurable for server owners and OP-ed players, using our in-game config UI (/md config).
Change the difficulty of mobs and bosses. Toggle friendly fire and what happens on death. Replace the loot dropped from mobs and generated in chests. Even replace generated blocks entirely!
This config UI is dynamically created based on all mods that use our InstanceConfig.json asset for their instances.
Eventually, you'll even be able to add your own modes to these instances from the UI.
