@networkop1@Itsuugo We just need to figure out at some point how to unclug the confusion we are inducing now with meta CNIs, sig-multi-net, DRA and new kid on the block KNI.
And I am pretty sure there are few others lurking around waiting to pop-up.
@networkop1 Question though is wether having yet another layer of modeled abstraction is the approach OR simplifying the networking itself should be.
We can always automate chaos ... it is still chaos in the end.
@atoonk@ntdvps@NLNOG VPP perf numbers have always been astonishing the challenge faced is code learning curve.
I have always seen the adoption challenge being more around ecosystem adoption that makes it consumable.
@ntdvps@Itsuugo Yeah until we get multi-net really working, we always tried to avois the multi-nic cluster because we always end up with cluster apis on one side, services on the other and it is never that clean communications unfortunately.
... but for clab we could manage 😁
@ebiken Great research paper read it twice and good viewpoint around intent abstraction when working with cloud platforms.
I still think though that simplifying the dataplane layer (IPv6/SRv6) and then working more at the upper layers helps you avoid most of the complexity pitfalls.
