@JesseOlson That was a misunderstanding. I just chose to be out of the short. In my backtesting when the “sweep” is shallow it is less profitable over time. Was it a great trade in retrospective? Sure ! But my system never tells me to long range highs, you just assumed that

Never forget everyone is just taking their best guess when it comes to predicting the next move. The #1 most important thing is your risk management. Every single person out there has no clue if the top is in or not so control the only thing you can and manage risk so that win or loss you can try again on the next setup. My edge-based system says I am better off longing, but someone else's equally valid edge-based system says to short. Neither is wrong, both are just trading a system that makes money over a series of many trades and taking losses is just part of that process.
