@robellcampbin I live in one of the least aesthetically pleasing suburbs in Melbourne. Seriously, it’s just not pretty. In fact it’s ugliness has made for some great chat on our daily iso walks. But it is full of character and culture and really great food. I love it.
"why don't high risk people just stay home & we let it run its course"
Ahh yes, i look forward to staying at home for years & having no contact with my daughter, friends or family so everyone else can avoid 2-3 weeks of level 3 every now and then
Why didn't I think of this
NZ stats:
700,000 asthmatics
600,000 over 65
Other vulnerable s- CVD, obese etc.
Total approximately 1,500,000 at risk.
Think before you act. Thank you.
🙏
This is such an important point reminder. No government in their right mind shuts down an entire country for no reason. Especially a democratic country.
Before we ask "what are the health impacts of lockdown?"; first we need to ask "what are the health impacts of COVID-19". Both are VIP but reversing that order is like asking for the side-effects of a vaccine before understanding the nasty disease it protects you from.
There’s a layer of health leadership sometimes missed in our reporting and that is the DHB leadership, as if it’s just Dr Bloomfield/MOH and then community providers. Would love to know (as the bottom of the piece reports) how DHBs are taking responsibility for testing rates.
Sick of Victorian’s claiming we are like a North Korean dictatorship. Get a grip. Google North Korea and read about the mass starvation, torture and execution of its people by an unelected government. Same hysterical people probably support indefinite detention of refugees here.
Building a train set track to the exact specifications of a lockdown crazed threenager is potentially the hardest KPI I have ever had to meet. Is it bedtime yet?
Finland’s two-year test of universal basic income concluded that it doesn't seem to disincentivise working, and benefits recipients’ mental and financial wellbeing https://t.co/Y8hkf8D2db
@nealejones Coming from a hot spot suburb in Melbourne, it’s been two months since I socialised with another human adult that isn’t my husband. Don’t be like Melbourne.
In my last set of tweets on @MatthewHootonNZ's armchair epidemiological reckons, I emphasised that he does not have the skills to analyse epidemiological data.
In his latest Herald piece, he unfortunately makes rookie mistakes again /1
These stories tell the personal impact coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on Victorians and their families. We all have a part to play in helping slow the spread. Access coronavirus patient Sarah's story here and visit https://t.co/fYeRI6cYtJ for the latest information.
Where can I get a treadmill for a three year old? One hour of exercise a day is not enough to exhaust the hyperactive tyrant #ParentingInAPandemic#melbournelockdown
