@mtg_ds Also, just logically, we would expect commons to matter less in a world where there are more uncommons designed and more of those show up in packs, unless WOTC specifically attempts to power creep those uncommons at a slower rate than commons, no?
@mtg_ds I'm confused, by your chart it seems like the claim is supported. The last 2 sets we've had weak commons comparatively, while they're also played less often. Design with play boosters in mind has really just started.
@bob_morocco@aphillip712@ManagerTactical disregarding the individual players being discussed, it seems highly rational to say "it's unlikely that my player evaluations, on average, are better than the aggregate evaluations of the 50-100 teams with large financial incentives to identify talent." Do you disagree?
@ProspectsUsmnt the hype has always been "most talented player", "highest potential us player" etc, which I think is still true. Injuries completely wrecked his progress, and he has some maturity issues.
@GOcrazyFutbol@ProspectsUsmnt@bob_morocco@St8ofFootball @chai_asc I think the idea would be to say as much as possible, leverage the scouting departments of teams with more resources than US Soccer who are sorting players into their appropriate levels all the time.
@bob_morocco@St8ofFootball @chai_asc isn't this effectively the job of scouting departments of teams with access to much greater resources than US Soccer, and yet they still get this wrong all the time? I disagree with the notion that we should NEVER take an MLSer, but it can certainly be taken into account.
@bob_morocco@St8ofFootball @chai_asc How are you supposed to accurately rate players on "how good they are at playing soccer" when their level of competition varies so wildly?
@11Yanks@NobletStrength are you saying fan interest in teams tends to remain constant regardless of competition they face? sounds like a load of nonsense to me.
