For many in Alberta’s 2SLGBTQ+ community, it doesn’t feel like a very happy Pride Month.
You’re hurting. You’re worried.
But please know this. You’re not alone. You matter. We see you. We love you.
And we’re here for you and we won’t ever stop fighting for you.

June is Pride Month, and although most of Edmonton’s Pride festivities are happening in August this year, the city is already feeling that Pride spirit! 🌈
Pride is more than just a celebration, Pride is a protest that was initiated by Black trans women to inspire a rallying cry for equity and liberation that sparked revolution amongst the entire 2SLGBTQIA+ global community.
I acknowledge that many queer and gender diverse folks are still engaged in this freedom fight as their rights are being threatened worldwide, and as allies, we must stand with the community to denounce hate and build a more accepting and inclusive Edmonton for all of us. ✊🏽 #YEG #Pride2023
BREAKING NEWS:
St. Albert School Board has unanimously approved a new optional locally developed junior high course on 2SLGBTQIA+ perspectives.

Thinking a lot today about Kitty Genovese, a lesbian from Brooklyn, whose brutal and senseless murder by a stranger was twisted and exploited to push a racist, anti-urbanist, and factually-incorrect narrative that has shaped the last 50+ years of American history. ❤️🧡🤍💜
So you're sailing off the French coast and you lose your rudder. You radio in a distress call and it's acknowledged. Someone is coming! You breathe a sigh of relief...
