Cape Town, South Africa, May 24.
Israeli runners were harassed while terrorist-linked flags were displayed openly in the streets.
This is bigger than anti-Israel activism.
It is the normalization and romanticization of terrorism, slowly making extremism appear acceptable under the eyes of ordinary people.
When intimidation becomes activism and terror symbols become “resistance,” society is already heading somewhere very dangerous.
@JohnWight1 People like you are part of the problem. If only they had put a bullet through his head and not their boots... hopefully that terrorist suffers every second for the rest of his life.
Not in my wildest dreams did I think this once pristine academic institution would trash itself overnight by aligning with and honouring a proven terror supporting Jew hater !!!
Heartbreaking. Iran murdered this entire family today in a missile hit in Beit Shemesh.
May Am Israel comfort their grieving relatives and friends.
BDE”. 💔
I am a proud King David alumnus.
No, I will not disavow the belief that the Jewish people have a right to self-determination in their historic homeland.
No, I will not disavow the principle that Jewish schoolchildren are entitled to be treated fairly and equally.
No, I will not disavow the simple truth that Jewish children deserve safety and security in their own educational environments — just like every other child.
Calling on alumni to publicly renounce those principles is not a call for dialogue.
It is a demand for submission in the face of prejudiced double standard.
Very few will be foolish enough to participate in that.
The former head of Roedean stepped down out of shame following the disgusting antisemitism that unravelled, and so naturally the South African leftist elite defend her.
I’m still shocked that @RediTlhabi, the vile Jew hater ,gets away with her lies , her insults, her slurs and tropes , her calling out Jews as “hysterical” “victims” who are not to be believed or “trusted”- who preaches about always fact checking and delaying reactions , insisting that one should wait to hear the other side - who then after being caught out in her own “shit show” of lies & misrepresentations , slithers away like the Jew hating snake she is 🐍🐍🐍
I knew it. When it comes to Israel's supporters, ALWAYS be circumspect and delay your reaction. The accusations and victimhood are always loud, and the truth is diluted. The damage is irreversible as those whom they accuse are maligned without recourse. They show no restraint, no generosity and no benefit of the doubt. And the hysteria! Not the same energy fixing the crisis they have caused.
My advice is to always wait for the other side to share. Otherwise, you will be in that "40 beheaded babies" mess. This story made no sense. Why would Rodean take such a risk? My immediate sense was that "this is a lie!" Or that individual students made a choice and not the institution itself.
But hey, that voice note is all over the northern suburbs and they will not record a similar one to correct the shit they have caused. Shameful. Always sowing fear, hate and paranoia.
This is a battle for the soul of South Africa. We must not allow these divisive tactics. I hope the staff abd pupils of Rodean will heal from this smear campaign.
We will never forgive and we will never forget how our hostages were treated by Hamas in Gaza.
Despite the horrific torture and humiliation, our brave and courageous hostages never lost hope, and even continued to light Hanukkah candles to bring light into a world of darkness.
Rasool was not prepared for what @emilykschrader was putting down at all. No one has ever taken him on like this before, and it was obvious. He deserved the calling out he got.
Absolutely love this. Just a regular English lad out to watch the football speaking perfect sense.
He is NOT happy with the Islamists.
What a breath of fresh air.
Spot on.
Watching the @sajewishreport Jewish achievers awards last night reminded me what an immense impact South African Jewry have had. To think that there are only +- 50 000 of us, making up about 0.1 % is unbelievable. What a blessing!
