Israeli runners were harassed while terrorist-linked flags were displayed openly in the streets.

This is bigger than anti-Israel activism.
It is the normalization and romanticization of terrorism, slowly making extremism appear acceptable under the eyes of ordinary people.

When intimidation becomes activism and terror symbols become “resistance,” society is already heading somewhere very dangerous.

No, I will not disavow the simple truth that Jewish children deserve safety and security in their own educational environments — just like every other child.

Calling on alumni to publicly renounce those principles is not a call for dialogue.

I knew it. When it comes to Israel's supporters, ALWAYS be circumspect and delay your reaction. The accusations and victimhood are always loud, and the truth is diluted. The damage is irreversible as those whom they accuse are maligned without recourse. They show no restraint, no generosity and no benefit of the doubt. And the hysteria! Not the same energy fixing the crisis they have caused.

My advice is to always wait for the other side to share. Otherwise, you will be in that "40 beheaded babies" mess. This story made no sense. Why would Rodean take such a risk? My immediate sense was that "this is a lie!" Or that individual students made a choice and not the institution itself.

But hey, that voice note is all over the northern suburbs and they will not record a similar one to correct the shit they have caused. Shameful. Always sowing fear, hate and paranoia.

This is a battle for the soul of South Africa. We must not allow these divisive tactics. I hope the staff abd pupils of Rodean will heal from this smear campaign.

Watching the @sajewishreport Jewish achievers awards last night reminded me what an immense impact South African Jewry have had. To think that there are only +- 50 000 of us, making up about 0.1 % is unbelievable. What a blessing!
