@EricDLombardi@OntLiberal it’s a disappointment to see how weak the OLP brand is. Ford is continuing as a disaster and the libs are unable to take advantage of it. It feels we need a huge overhaul of the current brass, i don’t see any substantial success coming anytime soon
The Ontario Liberal Party under my leadership will not be the HR department of Canadian politics.
Instead it will be a popular front for needed change rooted in 𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭 values.
My focus is reindustrializing Ontario, fixing the economic dysfunctions we have allowed to accumulate for decades, and making this province the most prosperous place in the world.
I am not running to restore last decades Liberal Party of luxury beliefs and platitude politics.
I am offering Liberal and 𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭 Ontarians a genuine choice that is ambitious about what this province can become.
I welcome people who have voted Conservative, NDP , Green, or for nobody at all to see something in this project worth building together.
The first step to doing things is believing you can do them.
In fifty years, I imagine a Canada connected from coast to coast by high-speed rail moving faster than anything we can build today, unlocking the extraordinary potential of Northern Ontario while turning Southern Ontario into a genuine global megaregion of extraordinary prosperity.
I imagine a society powered overwhelmingly by abundant clean electricity, supporting some of the most advanced and entrepreneurial industries in the world.
Spacious and comfortable homeownership for ordinary people. Beautiful cities, towns and suburbs. The best education anywhere. Excellent healthcare basically on demand. A society prosperous enough to provide broad civic welfare without constantly arguing about scarcity. Pluralistic and free.
Ontario should be an agricultural powerhouse too, in a part of the world increasingly recognized as a climate refuge. We have been given an extraordinary geographic inheritance in our fresh water, fertile land, minerals, energy, the Great Lakes and our proximity to one of the largest concentrations of people and capital on Earth. We can become vastly more prosperous while taking better care of it all.
Seriously, this future is achievable.
The problems we face are serious and real, but they are not arguments for giving up on growth or progress, like far too many have.
Matt Strauss and I certainly do not agree on everything. But rather than being outraged that someone who is Conservative would join the Ontario Liberal Party to support me, perhaps people should be curious about why my vision is finding an audience both inside and outside of the Ontario Liberal Party.
I am willing to engage with people I disagree with, take their arguments seriously, share my own thinking publicly and put forward substantive ideas about where Ontario should go.
That to me is liberalism in practice.
A society that does not imagine a great future for itself will never plan for one. I’m doing that work, and that’s why I’m changing minds.
So if you live in Ontario, sign up for the Ontario Liberal Party as soon as you can and vote for me to be its next leader.

@souljagoyteller perhaps not my place, but why start this whole exchange by insulting someone’s intelligence to only later avoid any level of dialogue
You could easily have a discussion around a topic without it being hotly contested…
He’s done it before, this debate bro thing is overblown
After sitting here watching NBA free agency this year and overall NBA movement over the past 2 years somebody has to say it....
The new CBA was sold as parity, but the first and second apron are starting to function like a hard cap on player value, team continuity, and player movement.
Teams are no longer making purely basketball decisions. They’re making fear-based apron decisions. That means good players get squeezed, homegrown cores get broken up, fan-favorite teams lose their identity, and the overall product loses some of the nostalgia and continuity that made people fall in love with the NBA in the first place.
This isn’t about players not understanding business. It’s the opposite. We understand that the NBA is a business. That’s why the @TheNBPA has to operate with elite business acumen, elite negotiating strategy, and real foresight.
The owners and the league walk into these meetings with killers that continue to run circles around us time and time again with elite lawyers, economists, cap experts, media strategists, and long term business operators. Players deserve a PA that is just as sharp, just as prepared, and just as aggressive about protecting our upside.
Too often, it feels like players are informed after the fact instead of being truly educated and empowered before decisions are made. That cannot continue.
The next CBA is a do or die moment for us as players. It's only going to get worse for us. We need transparency, accountability, and a serious re evaluation of who is representing us and how they are representing us.
This is not anti parity. This is pro player, fan, and product. The league is strongest when players are valued properly, great teams can stay together, and the people representing us are operating at the same level as the people sitting across the table.
@TheZodiacGM What would be a good similar level player replacement for the Raptors based on synergy fits (similar level contract wise $35M - $45M ish).. positionless works since we have gaps all over
Bennett Stirtz did his thing on Day 1 of the NBA Combine. Shooting + speed numbers backed it up.
I broke down his game earlier this season, and it has “PRO” written all over it. 📈
Could easily see him becoming one of the biggest NBA Combine risers in a loaded guard class.
Our team has a track record of getting things done and winning elections. No one else has the strength to win a by-election in Scarborough Southwest and beat Doug Ford.
