GRACE MULEI HAS BEEN ABDUCTED.
"Good evening,
My name is George Mulei, and I urgently need your assistance. My mother, Grace Njoki Mulei (61 years old), was at Ladnan Hospital in Eastleigh this afternoon where she was applying for a knee surgery.
Grace Mulei visited the Ministry of Health offices protesting SHA inequalities and inefficiencies.
During the application she called me while frantically shouting that individuals identifying themselves as DCI officers had “come for her.”
I immediately rushed to Ladnan Hospital, but upon arrival, we were informed that she has already been "taken".We do not know her current whereabouts.
I suspect she has been targeted by the State.
Please assist urgently in locating her and ensuring her safety.

On Day 2 of the International Conference on Contract Farming, our CEO, @AnthonyKioko, joined other panelists on the topic of "Strategies and Innovations for Maximizing Market Access through Contract Farming." He was joined by Hosea Machuki (CEO,@FPEAK_), Gerald Makau Masila (Executive Director-East African Grain Council), Penny Musengi (CEO-@PesiraTech), and moderator Linda Capwel (Marketing and Communications Head, @KentegraBiotech). Together, they provided an in-depth analysis of the various challenges, solutions, and strategic interventions that affect farmers, particularly within the marketplace.
This discussion is crucial as contract farming plays a vital role in reducing risks for both farmers and agribusinesses. It facilitates broader market access for small-scale farmers and ensures a consistent supply of agromaterials for companies. Such arrangements enhance agricultural productivity and supply chain efficiency, address market imperfections, and lower transaction costs.

✅ Generating Income
✅ Enhancing Farm Productivity
✅ Adding Value and Diversifying Products
✅ Providing Access to Agricultural Information and Resources
✅ Stabilizing Prices and Minimizing Post-Harvest Losses (PHLs)
✅ Empowering Smallholder Farmers
✅ Creating Employment Opportunities.

The inaugural day of the International Conference on Contract Farming (ICCF), themed 'Revitalizing African Agriculture,' was a remarkable triumph. A diverse group of stakeholders and farmers explored our exhibition booth, where owino givens, our Homabay agribusiness coordinator, provided a comprehensive, step-by-step explanation of CGA's role in enhancing productivity and implementing Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) among farmers.
This event is a pivotal platform for discussing strategies to bolster contract farming, which is instrumental in connecting small-scale farmers to larger markets and ensuring fair practices and sustainability in the agricultural sector.

On 23rd October 2024, @CropLifeKenya released an Impact Assessment Report on the Kenyan government's decision to withdraw eight pesticide active ingredients by December 31st 2024. The report highlights significant repercussions for 31 essential crops, predicting a 42.8% decrease in yields and a 17.6% reduction in farmer incomes by 2025. This is attributed to the lack of adequate pest control alternatives following the withdrawal, which was reportedly implemented without thorough stakeholder consultation or consideration of its adverse effects.
Cereal Growers Association (CGA) Marketing and Communications Lead, @JuliusNyabicha, stressed the need for a detailed evaluation of such regulatory actions to support the agricultural sector during a recent workshop by @CropLifeKenya. The government, through the Pest Control and Produce Board (PCPB), has pledged to work with stakeholders to find balanced solutions that protect the environment and the livelihoods of Kenyan farmers. The event gathered key agricultural sector players, including media, government officials, agrochemical firms, and farmers.

Today, Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA), in collaboration with Mr. Agriculture (Rodgers Kirwa ,OGW) and Cereal Growers Association (CGA), conducted a Digital Marketing Skills Training for Youthful Farmer Service Centers (FSCs) in Meru, Tharaka Nithi, and surrounding areas.
Embracing digitalization, as emphasized in FtMA's Pillar 4, is crucial for enhancing the capabilities of FSCs. This training equips them with the necessary skills to leverage digital platforms effectively, thereby expanding their market reach and fostering growth in the digital age.
