The Fulton Surface-to-Air Recovery System used a skyhook to rescue people without having to land the plane in the 1950s.
Before testing on humans, American inventor Robert Edison Fulton initially tested the skyhook on dummies before moving on to pigs. When the pig was lifted off the ground, it began to spin while flying through the air at 125 miles (200 km/h) per hour. Thankfully, the pig arrived on the plane unharmed, albeit slightly disoriented. When the pig recovered, it began to attack the crew onboard.
“This is the culmination of decades of doing nothing. …We've chosen to not fund housing. We've chosen to allow communities to shut down affordable housing programs. The system isn't broken. The system is working exactly as it was designed.”

Amanda said she has endured “four or five” encampment sweeps, each of which has displaced her from a known community and left her struggling to regain a sense of footing. “And then you don’t want to get comfortable, so there’s anxiety, you lose sleep.”

I hate seeing people turn music production into a checklist of genre tropes and speed running them like it’s a video game… like it can be fun but some ppl just completely miss what makes certain genres great and boil it down into “easy”/“hard” w no addtl analysis
I’m standing w my football star, he came out in support of women’s suffrage and pediatric cancer treatment, but I forgive him because he’s not very smart and easily convinced by the women voting and childhood cancer being real lobbyists
Every company has a guy named Brent or Brett or possibly even Bert who is just like really good pals with the president/ceo and no one really knows what he does but he’s super chill
@kenklippenstein "how do I do crimes?"
"does money laundry require soap?"
"Haz money, how much cost happiness?"
"if my eyes closed, is a bribe a bribe?"
"if I have a twin mattress, now many 10k dollar bricks can I store inside before it smells too money-ee?"
"cost to have gold statue bronzed?"
…to justify to themselves that it’s actually important, and people do care. even if that reaction isn’t real at all, it’s crucial that they have that feedback for continuity of their reality, that they’re oppressed by degenerates who hate children and families etc etc
my take on this whole saga is that in right wing circles they’re basically told that everything sacred to them is despised by their enemies. things normal people don’t care ab/put energy into get blown up as being “triggering” bc they need negative reinforcement… 1/2
I fear so many Americans are so brainwashed they really think “your party’s guy didn’t make my life better so we gotta switch to the other party’s guy” like do people even realize they can vote in primary races?
Columbus is so surreal during football season… I forgot there was a game and got caught in traffic on 4th street. CPD and EMS are screaming down 4th past stand still traffic, come to find out they’re responding to a stabbing murder of a 77 year old…. wtf
