@theblackdarkman@NymPseudo@chhopsky I discovered this the other day while rewatching the show, but the guy that shoots house in the season 2 finale is named Jack Moriarty, but iirc his name is never said out loud and he's never in another episode
@radiantNickangr I've found that often "being mixed" does feel like its own identity in and of itself. I've sometimes had more in common with folks of completely different mixed backgrounds than people that come from either of my ethnic communities. I like the multifaceted nature of it
@argkitsune@Gerrund_ing@Sefirosu200x@anarchoboognish One could also make the argument of art vs craft. (e.g. A well captured photo isn't a work of art if it isnt made or used as such, like if it's educational) Games dont *have* to be art. "All art is political" can be accurate without being so universal that it becomes meaningless
@Hurricanehugo13@boymonster I've been trying to do this exact interlock hack for like a year at this point. That balance between satisfying crunch and fast paced power fantasy is a rough one to get right.
@CaitlinOlsen@diplo No joke I was gonna shoot an interview with him the other day but a scheduling conflict meant we had to put a different team on it ๐ญ
@IAmRythian I noticed some other folks mentioning the accessibility nature of subtitles. Personally Iโd love to see someone who would need that feature make a work that explores the use of subtitles artistically, so it honestly and meaningfully represents both expression and practicality.
@AntonHand Thatโs a very good point. In my head I more meant broadcast media as a whole, not really social media (but thatโs a failure to communicate on my part). I assume our respective ire for the manipulative nature these industries comes from our direct involvement in them.
@AntonHand imo the modern state of tv and internet media consumption is some of the most psychologically manipulative shit. Not to mention the surreal state of childrenโs internet content. Algorithmically driven advertising and content is inhuman and and scarily effective.
@MissMousieMouse Haha, the release of FFXIV:ARR was the first game I ever paid money for on steam back in 2013, probably due to @nanosoundsโs videos! Havent regretted it so far but maybe thatโs the legacy years talking
@NotLauraW22 Aww what if I like to โPlayโ the โRoleโ in my โRole Playing Gameโ? I like doing my best to play the characters as intended, if there is an intention. Reminds me of acting in theater.
@tarrantkwok@zedecksiew ^this! the thrill of making it clear that iโm not pulling any punches (i even roll in the open) has made every victory more epic. I can want to create awesome high-stakes combat and make them EARN every hex of ground while simultaneously wanting them to win and reveling in it!
