💥 Reported airstrike on Pa Zi Gyi

The Myanmar Air Force (MAF) reportedly conducted an airstrike, dropping two 500-pound bombs on the Pa Zi Gyi Village Monastery in Kanbalu Township on 14 December 2025.

According to the source, five monastery buildings were destroyed and one monk was reportedly injured in the alleged incident.

Pa Zi Gyi is the village where the MAF reportedly conducted an airstrike in April 2023 that killed 156 civilians, including 37 children.

Myanmar Witness geolocated the exact location where the Pa Zi Gyi Village monastery was destroyed by analysing publicly available footage and cross-referencing it with Google Earth imagery.

🇲🇲NEW: Fortify Rights’s new report identifies 22 Myanmar junta officials, including military leaders, units, and airbases, responsible for deadly airstrikes on civilians in Kachin and Karenni states—attacks that amount to war crimes.

U.N. member states should impose a global arms and jet fuel embargo on the junta, and refer the situation in Myanmar to the International Criminal Court.

“Every airstrike is initiated with a decision by a person in power, and we’ve traced those … and the supply chain enabling it all,” says @sengchit, Human Rights Associate from @FortifyRights.

🚨 Reported mass casualties in Mogoke

While the Myanmar Air Force (MAF) reportedly continued to bomb Mogoke township, and civilian casualties continued to rise in June and July 2025, the MAF allegedly carried out an airstrike by dropping two 200-pound bombs on Kyat Pyin Ywar Ma Village in Mogoke Township on 2 August, at around 8:20 local time.

Shwe Phee Myay news mentioned that at least 13 people were killed and ten were injured, but the official death toll has not yet been confirmed.

Myanmar Witness investigators geolocated the damaged houses in Kyat Pyin Ywar Ma Village by using Google Earth and the coordinates of that houses can be accessed upon request.Image credit to original owner.

#BREAKING: Myint Swe, the acting president under Myanmar's junta, has died at age 74 today.

The former general, who was a key figure in the 2021 coup, was widely accused of playing a leading role in the brutal 2007 Saffron Revolution crackdown. He previously served as vice president under Aung San Suu Kyi's government (2016-2021) and chief minister of Yangon under Thein Sein's government (2011-2016).

#URGENT: #Myanmar Labour Rights Activist Myo Myo Aye Rearrested

Myo Myo Aye, founder of the #STUM (Solidarity Trade Union of Myanmar) and a vital voice for garment and women's labour rights, was rearrested on July 25 in #Yangon, according to sources.

Her home and office were searched, but there's no information yet on charges or her whereabouts.

Myo Myo Aye has been a key advocate, previously detained in 2021 after the coup, and suffers from chronic health issues. Her immediate release is crucial.
