@ValZimmer2@LHadinugraha@seaden_amy@RyanMarino Human breast milk needs to be consumed within a couple hours or it needs to be refrigerated. Otherwise if not consumed in 1 day needs to be frozen. The commensal microbes of the human are different than that of a cow
@ValZimmer2@seaden_amy@RyanMarino please tell me about how “germs” do not cause disease after you’ve had to tell someone their loved one is dying from sepsis
@LionAdvocacy Why do you have CIHR and CFI circled? Those are public funding agencies. Pfizer gave less than 0.1% of their total research budget.. not sure if I’d call that major.
@LionAdvocacy The Jan 26th update is much more accurate, even if you ignore the mRNA vaccine. The Tdap vaccine which has been around since the 90s would not have been considered a vaccine by the old definition.
@eblazar@EMSwami My understanding is there are programs opened in hospitals run by private equity that provide poor training based purely on efficiency metrics and maximizing profitability from patients. These residents tend to not be hireable outside these centres (correct me if I’m wrong)
@hanna_c2 @mrnaderhanna@UHNwomen@UHN_Research@UHN@SabbahSam@DennisCho@QueensUHealth@QueensGenSurg With recurrent presentation 2 weeks into flare, no improvement but no sign of complicated disease on CT would you consider antibiotics? I know that most of the studies were done in first presentation diverticulitis so I had a hard time finding the answer in the literature…
@AndreMansoor Does a Hoffmann’s specifically indicate cervical myelopathy? I thought it was used as an upper motor neuron test (like the babinski of the upper extremity)
I would love for someone at @loblawco to reconcile these two articles in today’s @globeandmail.
Make me feel better and tell me what you’re doing for staff to protect their health.
It’ll comfort us all knowing you’re doing right by your staff.

Hey @QueensUGME it might be about time to formalize POCUS in the curriculum! It's been in the US for a while and certainly warrants investment in Canada.

We are so excited for a new announcement!
Over the last 6+ months during #COVID19 we were able to create this ‘Unofficial Guide to Canadian Medical School’ where we were fortunate enough to bring 70+ medical students from all 17 Canadian medical schools to collaborate...
Great study by @colinrbell and his @Qemerg group!
While it's great to personally experience #POCUS providing you with more diagnostic certainty, they've shown at a systems level that ED investigation cost is less when using POCUS, especially in pts discharged home from the ED.
