Clearing catch basins today in case we get some heavy rain later.
When trash & debris block the grates, stormwater can’t drain properly.
Every New Yorker can do their part by making sure their catch basins are clear. Report clogged basins to @nyc311, & sign up for @NotifyNYC!
In between pressers at MSG, a scrum broke out around Fat Joe and Jadakiss.
Fat Joe with an all-timer on this Knicks run:
“I seen Hasidic Jews break dancing with Black kids. This is the greatest unification of the city since 9/11”
The NY1 debate showed clearly that @ReynosoBrooklyn is the candidate with the record - kicking ice off Rikers, major NYPD reform legislation - and the vision to be the champion North Brooklyn needs in Congress!
Antonio Reynoso isn’t new to this — he’s been true to this.
I was proud to stand with him when he passed Right to Know into law, and I’m proud to stand with him today.
My heart goes out to everyone affected by today's attack in San Diego, including the security guard who died protecting his community.
Muslim Americans should be able to pray and go to school without fear. We cannot stay silent and let Islamophobic hate fester in this country.
As negotiations between the MTA and workers continue and LIRR service remains suspended, the City is preparing for travel disruptions going into the workweek and New Yorkers should too.
Here’s the latest:
• City Hall and City agencies continue to coordinate preparedness and contingency efforts to support New Yorkers and maintain travel continuity.
• @NYC_DOT and @NYPDnews are operating a Joint Traffic Management Center to monitor traffic conditions.
• @NYPDnews officers will be deployed along major roadways, on the street level and inside subway stations to ensure traffic is moving, prevent illegal parking and keep commuters safe.
• @nycemergencymgt staff will be deployed to key shuttle bus hubs and drop-off locations in Queens to support riders.
• @helloDCWP will conduct outreach to licensed parking garage operators to remind them that parking rates cannot be increased without the required 60-day notice.
Here’s how to prepare:
• New Yorkers should plan for heavier-than-usual traffic and additional travel time.
• The MTA will provide limited bus service on weekdays for essential workers and those who cannot telecommute.
• Stay up to date by signing up for @NotifyNYC by texting NOTIFYNYC to 692-692 or visiting https://t.co/gpMS1f9Tto
Labor was there for my family when I was growing up and it saved my life. That’s why I will show up every day in DC and fight for labor, our working families, and our right to organize. Thank you to the incredible coalition of labor unions that showed up today to rally in Queens.
Check out this great new app created by @BrooklynCB6’s @racioppomike! It’s never been easier to find your local community board, access useful data, get connected with your officials, and understand how community boards work. (Or learn about the Gowanus Rezoning!) Check it out! https://t.co/U5umjPmX07
"By firing these employees, Kickstarter is not only violating a contract it agreed to, but directly attacking workers’ right to organize...This borough won’t stand by and let corporations bend the law in retaliation—this victory already belongs to the workers.”
This one hurts. Jason Collins was a pioneer. He had courage like you've never seen. He was an incredible teammate. And having him in Brooklyn at the start of my coaching journey meant so much. Those who knew him were blessed to call him a friend. You are already missed my brother. Rest in power. 💔
I look forward to working with @NYCMayor and @SpeakerMenin to finalize a budget that goes even further and invests in the programs we need to make our City more affordable, like Fair Fares and NYC Kids RISE. (2/2)
