@BeyondTheHalo I think Perry has done a decent job with the constraints (mainly Arte) he has had to deal with. I can’t recall the last time a GM of ours had full control on baseball operations.
@AngelsWin@BauerOutage Because he’s a PR nightmare, has questionable ethics, unknown how current players will mesh with him, and very likely isn’t an effective pitcher anymore. Not too difficult to understand and clearly all MLB teams don’t see the pros outweighing the combination of cons.
@mgileot1@AAApitcher If I remember correctly, I think that was what Weaver did. Boras wanted him to wait and hit the market, but Weaver told him he wanted to sign the extension and went ahead with it. I’m sure the players can make their own decisions, but assuming Boras strongly advises against it.
@DMAC_LA I think people greatly underestimate Ohtani’s persona and the fact that he’s not like other athletes. He might very well sign elsewhere, but the longer this goes on (and things like this happen) the more I feel he’ll be back in Anaheim. Well, at least that’s my hope.
Ok, who wants to start a company!? We’ll figure it out along the way. We’ll have pizza every Friday, is pretty much the only plan I have right now. Anyone? Open to ideas
@philcooper930@SamBlum3 Fletcher has been a starter the last few years and only posted above 100 wRC+ in 2020. He’s scrappy and old school, but tough to argue he should be an automatic
