@andrewkingbk Hi Andrew, thanks for coming back to me regardless. We managed to find a cached copy of your post at the time. Content was very helpful and shaped a whole solution for us. Thanks again
@andrewkingbk Hi Andrew, I was trying to share some of your blog posts to a colleague that are helpful and relevant to something we're working on but it appears the page content is now missing. Have you taken it down? eg. https://t.co/gBPxbUSqJi
The problem with PMs and POs insisting that everything should look the same on both platforms is that no one apart from POs and PMs uses both platforms. To everyone else, going against platform idioms is jarring
As a tech lead or eng manager, you so frequently get request from above or from other teams to drop what you are doing and work on this thing they need, *now*.
During my 4 years at Uber after asking these questions, 9 out of 10 times it turned out it wasn't really urgent:
Product manager: "Why does adding a button take 2 weeks?"
Also product manager: "This tech debt does not bring business value, so we have to deprioritize it."
Binfluencer (bin·flu·enc·er): The person on your street who always puts their wheelie bins out first on bin day and the rest of the neighbours follow.
I think I may have invented a new word.
My husband has a smart email system but it's so awkward every time 😂
Hotel: "What's your email?"
Husband: "It's [his name]+[hotel name]"
Hotel: "Whoa your email has the hotel name in it?!"
Husband: "That’s so I know if you're selling my data"
Hotel: "Oh" *avoids eye contact*
Some Xcode love today.
In Xcode 12, you can export & open view hierarchy captures. Plus, they work independently from the app itself.
✉️ Send a capture to a colleague to debug an issue
✅ Attach them to Github issues to debug constraints
I'm a fan, nice little tweak ✨
