Mayor O'Connor put funding back in the budget to re-launch the City Cuts program. This year we will help over 500 residents across 72 neighborhoods with cutting their grass. We do this by hiring 11 local small businesses (8 MWBEs) to help these residents in need of assistance.

Through our City Cuts program, local contractors are providing free lawn care services to eligible low-income seniors, veterans and residents with disabilities across Pittsburgh.

We are committed to getting the EMS Bureau back up to the fully budgeted number of paramedics and EMTs!

Join us in welcoming one of the largest recruit classes in the past decade to Pittsburgh EMS!

Recruit Class 2026-02 includes 9 certified Paramedics and 3 certified EMTs. They'll complete a 120-hour recruit training academy, orienting them on operations within the Bureau of EMS.

Today the City officially broke ground on the new Medic 12 and Fire Station 20 in Lincoln Place. Many many years in the making this is a significant investment in our first responders and community safety
