@hahn_rt point is essential! Measurements are only valid if done in MPR AFTER eliminating parallax. Parallax causes displacement of the apparent position from the actual position of a 2D plane as it crosses a 3D dataset. See Otto’s Practice of Clinical Echo 6thE Fig 25.10.
@hahn_rt Thank you @hahn_rt for acknowledging the tremendous importance of parallax in #ASEchoJC “TEE for Structural Heart Guidelines.” Avoiding parallax is essential for accurately guiding interventionists & cardiac surgeons.

@donoxorn David Adams did an exceptional job putting together 2019 AATS Mitral Conclave and 99th AATS Annual Meeting. Proud to say we had joint AATS/ASE sessions in both. ASE support greatly appreciated. Really hope we can keep this going. Echo is so important to surgeons!
Surgeon should document in consultation whether he/she is going to concomitantly repair tricuspid at time of mitral. This decision should be made well in advance of OR. Also important for cardiologist to know surgeons repair rates. #ASEchoJC
@AATSHQ Great work Michelle, Nichol, Darlene and everyone @AATSHQ. Huge job; lots of late nights (as documented by your emails!); extremely well done. Great meeting! Thank you, again.
