And as for https://t.co/9UKHBOI0z2
GPs as frontline clinicians are not prepared to inject a “bargain” jab without meta-analysis and robust patient safety data
Pharma should be about patient outcomes not the price of the jab or the value of the company shares
@bbcnickrobinson
Thanks v much @LSCICB for this gut punch to GPs in Lancashire/S Cumbria.I’ve had GPs contact me thinking they just don’t matter & considering throwing the towel in when the ICB just tosses you aside. Thoughts @NHSEngland @wesstreeting @pulsetoday ?
98.3% Yes
1.7% No

🏃♀️Marathon, not a sprint
🕯️Slow burn, no big bang
❌No strike
🕰️More time with patients

Focus on your practice
Focus on the patient in front of you

We must act to save GP
Do we value our GP teams so little?
How can we check this is right for our patients, our staff or ourselves with so little time to consider?
@ShaunLintern@BMA_GP@afitzgeraldnhs
How to make you people feel valued @nhse and @SYICB_PE .
PCN pilot contractual documentation to be reviewed and considered sent to PCN reps after 4pm on the last Friday of the school term. Insist on an answer by 5pm Tuesday. I received at gone 5pm last night.
I worked all day clinically yesterday and will do the same today seeing patients. An evening meeting last night till 9 and 2 small kids to see.
2 of my partners away out of the country taking much needed annual leave.
This does not allow due diligence and is inappropriate.

EMIS outage thoughts…
There’s a ‘gradient’ between GP & rest of NHS front door (A&E, 999, 111)
A&E see ~23m per yr
111 get ~22m calls per yr
999 get ~7m calls per yr
Total c52million contacts
(All off Google #factcheck)
Whereas GP…
367m appts per year
Ratio about 1:6
@ShaunLintern Electronic prescribing in all health care settings. Would reduce the transfer of work and improve the interface between GPs and both hospital and dentists. So much extra work generated unnecessarily and far from fantasy if they choose to invest in it.
COST COMPARISON
Glastonbury weekend ticket £355
Full car service + MOT £235
Pet insurance £360
Football season ticket £495
5 take-away Coffees/week £3.75 - £975
Did you know that you get all your GP practice services for a year for £165
It’s too little & been cut £35

🚨”Where we need a doctor, fund a doctor”
This is powerful stuff from @DrPhilBanfield chair of @TheBMA speaking up for GPs in his opening speech at #ARM2024
Everyone should listen to this
"For some of us, this is our reality".
We hear from newly qualified GP @tilnaST & @doctor_katie on why the #ARM2024 motion calling to restore the rights of GPs to employ the staff they need is so important and why we must support the campaign to #TakeActionSaveGeneralPractice.
Doctors from around the country have supported a motion calling for the freedom for GP practices to employ whoever they need to. And expressing support for GP industrial action.

What’s the cost of ‘bringing back the Family Doctor’?
10p per day per person - that’s the amount that’s been removed from GP Practices over the past 8yrs
This is leading to GPs being unemployed, leaving & GP practices closing
10p is what is needed - @wesstreeting over to you
Can’t see a GP - blame MPs & NHS England
Core funding for GP Practices has been cut by £2bn since 2016, enough for an average practice to employ 2 GPs, a Practice Nurse & more admin staff
Instead £1.4bn on ARRS ~ additional roles but no GPs or Practice Nurses
Patients need GPs
@tonihazellgp@doctor_katie But some that exist don't allow you to switch of some aspects while keeping other's open. If you use on for total triage it may be an all or nothing.
Since 2015 we have trained 25,000 GPs across England
Comparing today with back then, how many extra GPs do we have?
Minus 2000
We have GP unemployment in the middle of a workforce crisis
Not a paradox - deliberate breakage of general practice.
