The Phase III DESTINY-Breast09 trial marks a significant advancement in HER2-positive metastatic #BreastCancer treatment, showing that trastuzumab deruxtecan combined with pertuzumab delivers a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in PFS 🆚 the current 1st-line standard regimen of taxane, trastuzumab, and pertuzumab (THP). This is the first trial in over a decade to demonstrate superior efficacy across a broad HER2-positive metastatic population in the 1st-line setting. While OS data remain immature, early trends favor the Enhertu combination.
