📍DOCUMENTS NEEDED:
▪︎ TRANSCRIPTS
▪︎ DEGREE CERTIFICATE/WAEC/NECO (for Bachelor’s)
▪︎ INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT
▪︎ 2 LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
▪︎ STATEMENT OF PURPOSE/MOTIVATION LETTER
▪︎ CV/RESUME
▪︎ WAEC/NECO
▪︎ PROOF OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY (IELTS/TOEFL)
▪︎ You generally need IELTS (usually 6.5 overall, no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT (83–100+) for most programs.
- Some universities may waive it with prior English-medium education.
▪︎ You do not need a professor/supervisor for most MSc applications (research-based PhDs usually do).
▪︎ You can work up to 90 hours per month (roughly 20 hours/week) during term time + full-time in summer (for state-approved programs).
-Earnings help with living costs but rarely cover full tuition/living.
▪︎ Tuition for non-EU students ranges from €6,000 – 16,000+ per year, depending on the program and university.
- Engineering, business, and science programs are often on the higher side. Many require payment for the first semester/year upfront.
- Copenhagen/Aarhus are more expensive. Family budget is significantly higher.
📍Documents must be authenticated/legalised (via Nigerian authorities + Danish Embassy process where required) and translated into English where needed, especially for residence permit stage.
▪︎ After studies, you can get up to 3 years job-seeking residence permit (Establishment Card/graduate permit) for graduates of Danish Bachelor’s, Professional Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programs.
- This allows full-time work while job hunting. Very generous option.
📍Proof of funds (Living expenses):
Main applicant: €995 per month (2026 rate), usually documented up to 12 months (€11,940).
- Paid tuition for the first semester/year can reduce the cash amount needed. Bank statements (in your name, recent), scholarship, or sponsor proof accepted.
▪︎ Universities often assist with the residence permit process.
