@ChivalryFella I can't find the energy to scroll through your Twitterx history, but ever drop the word 'snowflake' before? Let people mourn in their own way my dude. Or log off if freeze peach is too cold for you?
Prayer said to Mary Queen of Heaven per request.
@shortyman09 (sigh) There are plenty of unrelated flags at any given match. Just fess up that you're annoyed at one specific flag. Ireland isn't in the competition and its flag is there a lot too. The reason is perhaps more humorous but no more or less "political" than Palestine.
@TheCatholicEngr Welcome! Folks who have a certain, umm...opinion...about Midwest populations are often surprised that it's like California in that the established middle class (or first-gen Americans of a certain education & income level) aren't getting to the fields at 4 AM if they can help it.
@shortyman09@ErinIshimoticha@Pjlecy@SpaceX REAL AMERICANS (tm) cheer when SpaceX rockets launch and land as planned. COMMIE TRAITORS cheer (and remind people of Elon Musk's foreign origins and that of a lot of his workforce) when SpaceX rockets blow up with great beauty and force.
I don't make the rules.
@shortyman09 This might be a case of what scolds in the Church might call "poor formation in the 60s" - or just legacy Protestant ignorance. Many in the Church hierarchy supported Chavez and the UFW back in the day. Or maybe you just didn't know many Mexicans?
@shortyman09 Bravo my dude. May History itself be condemned if it fails to honor the name of he who fired the first shot of what future generations will dub the Geek Squad Reconquista (tm)!
@kimberlycaritas My experience (recovering academic): Most Biblical historians accept some big events aren't corroborated externally. But so much depends on the use of history (apologetics, theology, etc.) Lots of fun reading from St. Augustine to Scott Hahn, and that's just within Catholicism!
@mfjlewis@JosephAlbrigo Go ahead and say it: The behavior of the community college professor in question is a very PROTESTANT way of understanding the Church.
@shortyman09 @knowthefaithpx My friends if you just take a look at "the Shortster's" post just a little further down the feed you will clearly see the new Archbishop of Canterbury taking a seat. It's clearly NOT vacant for those with eyes to See.
@KavaiMasei@wrenscarborough I sympathize with you @KavaiMasei but you're not going to win any arguments with someone who apparently went to college but argues like one who was homeschooled.
@GregorysCoffee Hola my dudes, placed an order on the app, everything's chill but get to the store location and it says closed for maintenance. Que pasa?
@mfjlewis@LeightonVW @AustinRuse Well he seems to have taken "shoot all liberal professors" off the list, so that's progress. I also assume he's toned down fighting DEI because people might assume he's against "Opus" Dei?
@dlongenecker1 Oh my heavens...every accusation from y'all is a confession. As if the TLM gateway for many weren't thoughts like "Ewww, that icky Roc O'Connor 'hymn' " or "Wow, those magnificent vestments! That stained glass!" or similar aesthetic motivations.
@mfjlewis@Chicago9811 Related: On hats, does the election of Pope Leo XIV make it more likely that Archbishop Jose' Gomez of my former diocese might get raised to Cardinal now? Rumor had it such would never happen under Pope Francis...which I understand the logic of.
@mfjlewis@emzanotti Indeed. And regardless, a convicted sexual abuser and oft-photographed friend of Jeffrey Epstein, even if he's the sitting President, isn't the best person to be siccing on Abp. McElroy.
@shortyman09 De-lurking 'cause 1 person's disjointed theology is another's dynamic understanding of tradition and culture. Ex.: Married priests. TEC/AC says OK on principle, RC no. Yet Rev. Longenecker, etc. are loopholed proof that RC theology in practice is just as supple. Or disjointed?
@nicksterwixter@TheAtlantic You routinely seem befuddled by what you read here, friend. Is this obtuseness fr or do you reach peak cognitive capacity with, say, the musings of Dr. Jordan Lobsterson?
@bombadil_john @RCAnnaKate @JadeAtrophis I don't know why this is my particular obsession but she always seems to ask for degrees that she doesn't have (yet) herself. Like, "Show me your admission letter to a nonselective grad school and a transcript of your first semester, otherwise you're not a theologian like me."
