Book 25 of 2025. This one grabbed both the music and book lover in me. I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story and Adam Zantz is a very relatable lead character - I am curious to see where @danielweizmann will take him next. I will be adding Cinnamon Girl to my TBR stack.
This Thursday at @villagewellcc, as part of the great Writing Studio helmed by @francescaliablock, I'll be giving a one-hour shpiel on the art of mystery writing, including some fun tips and tricks and on-the-spot writing exercises. Fall on by!

@EllroyReader Outstanding podcast! I’ve been studying this novel lately and you connected some important dots for me. BTW have you seen Webb / Tierney in The Razor’s Edge? Another great adaptation.
@EllroyReader Steven, have you ever read Nick Tosches' bio of Dino? Really one of the most brilliant works of non-fic I ever read...still quoting lines to myself
...how's that for underselling it!
"A great southern California detective yarn that works as a meditation at group friendships and lost youth."
Thank you Scott Montgomery, The Hard Word, for placing Cinnamon Girl among the top 12 crime novels of the year so far!
