Tonight's District Court decision on #mifepristone "is inflammatory, brazenly substitutes the court’s judgment for that of trained professionals, and distorts the reality" of ACOG members and patients. Our full statement: https://t.co/F87EARs0zG
Wisconsin women are living in 1849 with fewer rights than their mothers & grandmothers. That’s why today I led the introduction of the #WomensHealthProtectionAct to restore the rights of Americans to make their own health care decisions without political interference.
Thank you @CongressmanRaja for using your platform on @ProChoiceCaucus to ensure access to evidence-based reproductive care, including abortion: for your IL constituents & the tens of thousands from outside our state who increasingly rely on IL providers for this care @ACOGAction
Great to have @ACOG in town to talk with Wisconsin doctors & medical students about how we’re working to make health care more affordable & accessible for Wisconsinites in need & discuss how we must restore Wisconsinites’ right to reproductive health care services, like abortion.
@RepRobinKelly reminding us that bipartisanship to improve birthing people's health & racial equity IS possible: Preventing Maternal Deaths Act, Improving Access to Maternity Care Act, Extend Postpartum Medicaid, Maternal Health QI Act->all LAW! @acog@ACOGAction#CLC2023
“Gender affirming care is health care..is mental health care..is literally suicide prevention care.”-Admiral Rachel Levine @HHS_ASH#CLC2023 Proud to stand w @acog & others to support this essential care & fight the >400 anti trans bills threatening it https://t.co/ynkFm5Ms8z
Today, the Supreme Court issued a ruling that denies women their fundamental right to abortion. Our department is committed to reproductive justice and women’s reproductive autonomy. We will continue to assure that abortion is safe, legal, and accessible to all patients.
The #SCOTUS decision in #SB8 means that our Texas members and their patients will continue to be vulnerable to onerous lawsuits simply for providing patients with evidence-based medical care protected by the constitution. 1/
For the 6 weeks that #SB8 has been in place, abortion has effectively been abolished in Texas, despite the fact that it is a safe, important component of comprehensive medical care. @ACOG and @AmerMedicalAssn urge #SCOTUS to protect Texas patients. https://t.co/D9PgoguLW8
