NHQ/DCP today commenced its two-day workshop on Fundamentals of Harmonious Industrial Relations in collaboration with the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, at Varunika Auditorium, Delhi.
The workshop has been thoughtfully designed to share best practices, foster constructive dialogue, and strengthen the framework of harmonious relations between management and the workforce—an essential cornerstone of organisational effectiveness, productivity, and future readiness. Strong industrial relations and workplace harmony are vital for ensuring mutual trust, employee well-being, and sustained institutional growth within any progressive organisation.
The inaugural address was delivered by Rear Admiral Aditya Hara, ACOP (AC), who underscored the significance of nurturing harmonious industrial relations in today’s dynamic environment and commended the efforts of NHQ/DCP in spearheading such forward-looking initiatives.
The event was graced by CSO (P&A), HQWNC; CSO (P&A), HQSNC; CGM, Mumbai, Vizag and Alwaye; and senior representatives from Naval Dockyards, NSRYs, and NADs.
More than 200 Service and Civil Officers from various Commands and NHQ participated in the workshop, reflecting the widespread commitment within the Naval community towards strengthening effective industrial relations and promoting an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual respect.
Day One featured engaging sessions by distinguished subject matter experts — Dr. S. B. Mitra, Former Director, GAIL, and Shri Vinod Behari, CEO, Power Sector Skill Council — whose deep insights and practical perspectives enriched the participants’ understanding and inspired meaningful interaction.

Day Two carried forward the momentum with engaging sessions by eminent experts, including Shri Ranjan Verma, Former Chief Labour Commissioner, and Shri Alok Verma, Former Director (HR & Personnel), HAL. They shared rich insights on evolving industrial relations frameworks, conflict resolution, and the pivotal role of leadership in building trust and cooperation at the workplace.
Participants responded enthusiastically, valuing the practical perspectives and interactive discussions.
The workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Capt Sanjay Bisht, Capt (CP), who appreciated the efforts of the organisers, VVGNLI experts, and participants from various Commands and NHQ.
With this successful initiative, NHQ/DCP reaffirmed its commitment to promoting industrial harmony as a cornerstone of organisational growth and operational excellence.
