State of Chicago Sports
Chicago Cubs: Some Hope
Chicago Blackhawks: Will Recover
Chicago Bears: Some Hope
Chicago Bulls: No Hope
Chicago Whitesox: No Hope
Reality is these other franchises may win a championship in the years to come. With Reinsdorf, it will never happen again.
For the record, Michael Penix is a GREAT pick for the Falcons!!!! I hope the Bears don't regret passing him up, because I truly would've traded down and taken Penix myself as a Bears fan. Mark it down! #BEARS#BearDown#IUFB
@RiseOpenEyes@Jmack37 This is it! So many Bears fans are ONLY debating two options: Keeping Justin Fields and trading down for picks OR drafting Caleb Williams. How about trading out of #1, still getting multiple picks AND getting Penix? Keep Fields or trade him for a pick, I don't even care. Win/Win
Justin Fields is ok, but next contract isn't worth it (like Bulls signing Lavine to max).
Trade Fields for pick.
Trade down 1-2 picks and get a top QB (not Caleb Williams) + draft haul.
If Bears keep Fields, Poles should trade down to 2, get MHJ+OL. Draft Penix for insurance.
@SoxGarden I LOVED Sosa when he was on the Sox! My favorite player of all-time. I told everyone he would be a superstar when they traded Baines for him. I was so pissed when they traded him to the damn Cubs. I reluctantly rooted for him even after the trade (while rooting for them to lose).
@BullsSource The fans may have gotten screwed, but the Bulls didn't. GarPax chose not to tank as well as they could have, and the team is still suffering as a result. They reaped what they sowed, as they say.
@sportspartizan Billy D?!? You're about the only one I see mention him. He took his job a year ago, handpicked by a new Bulls GM and President of Basketball Ops, and they'll be building the team in their joint vision. If you want to dream, stick to Brad. Billy D is just dumb (no offense, tho) π
@neilfunkfan100@KCJHoop Ok, Wendell. The point is I expect more from a high lottery pick. Players who "make a living" by setting screens are generally referred to as role players. I'm just a casual, so I could be wrong.
@MarkSchanowski I assume LBJ wins it all this year. NJ isn't a "team". Not sure about next. Is it an advantage that LBJ can win in 3 different locations, or a disadvantage that he needs to rebuild 3 times to have a chance? I'm so confused! I'm sticking with MJ!
@BullsSource Yeah, but this is just the same old story. It means nothing when we finish with the 7th worst record and let other teams draft the superstars. They really, truly need to tank the fuck out of this season. Lottery odds aren't quite what they were, but it's still best to be worst!
