Leigh understands the risks to our LGBTQ+ youth. When my cousin came out as Trans she was homeless in a youth shelter for over a year. We need legislators who bring this voice to the table and represent the under represented at every level of legislation.

Going off of my previous thread, I have to share with all of those who supported me in so many ways, I will not be running for city council again....because I can't. I'm sad to announce I bought a house and due to the market every house in Roseville was out of our price range.

I wanted to bring BIPOC to caucus and get good candidates the endorsement but I'll never put them in a situation so toxic, where old bitties not understanding that DFL can vary as broadly as GOPers, shame you for actually wanting to see our world change for the better.

This is super common in the DFL party, sadly. It's a gatekeeping move that kept many great new candidates from winning in 2020. The DFL really needs to work on this if they actually care about beating Republicans in future elections.

So yes, I don't believe elections are "rigged" but I certainly believe the candidates we get to choose from as a party is rigged. It's why we have weanie @GovTimWalz and not Erin Murphy as Governor today.

16 cities declare a climate emergency. Roseville is not one of them. This is what happens when you vote for your friends & not who'd be best for the job. Council is "DFL" leaning and they ain't doing shit, including banning single use plastic like Etten campaigned on.

It's clear state legislation on this topic is laughable. It'll come down to smaller communities making these calls but our council just sits with their thumbs up their butts. Don't even have a mask mandate at this point. Thanks for nothing!

@ziibiing I hope you were able to make this a teachable moment, or have someone white who already knows do the labor. I took Ojib w/ Cleone & I remember asking Brett why Cleone couldn't ask Emma for help. His response opened my eyes to just how *not* lucky she was, even w/ surviving. 💔
