Many of the sharpest prophets in scriptures missed.

Missing is not that bad.
It’s pride, ego and the desire to please people that stresses you.

Prophet Samuel (sharper and more forensic than many prophets of today) missed who The King of Israel will be at least thrice in one day. Until David showed up, he didn’t know who it was. It almost appeared like he was operating WORD FROM KNOWLEDGE.

Prophet Elijah (the prophetic icon himself) thought that he was the only prophet but there were more than 100 that were preserved. He missed this.

Prophet Ezekiel (man of more dimensions that most today) prophesied that King Nebuchadnezzar would flatten the city of Tyre. Later he changed it.

Prophet Jonah made it clear that Nineveh would be overthrown. Not conditional o. Very clear. Yet, Nineveh was not overthrown.

John the Baptist. The one greater than all that existed before him (according to Jesus) was still unsure if Jesus was the messiah.

Prophet Nathan missed it when he said David would build the temple. He later came back and corrected it.

Even Jesus. He looked at the woman who needed healing and said “I cannot give the children’s bread to dogs”. The woman replied him, and he corrected himself.

You’re the one that’s afraid of being wrong.
That’s why you will remain small.

Usually it is other ministry gifts that DO NOT PROPHESY at all that make everyone afraid of missing.

Preachers miss. They can learn and correct their teachings.
Everyone can miss.

That’s why we all have savior.
A master.

That’s why we all NEED a savior.

Jesus is the perfect one.
You’re not Jesus.

Debunking the Phantom Debts and Ecological Loan Fallacy

My attention has been drawn to trending claims by the Anambra State Government that my administration left behind inherited debts, including a ₦2 billion ecological loan, contractor liabilities, and unpaid salaries, gratuities, and pensions. This is completely false.

We systematically liquidated historical gratuities and arrears dating back several years, amounting to over ₦35 billion. At the point of handover, the state owed nothing in salaries, gratuities, or pensions, nor did we owe anything to any contractor for projects duly executed and certified.

The ₦2 billion ecological fund in question was released barely three months before the end of my tenure for the Oko/Umuchiana erosion crisis. Despite pressure to spend the money, I refused, insisting that it should be left for my successor because government is a continuum and the funds were tied to a specific project.

The money was therefore left 100 per cent intact in First Bank, in Account No. 2018779464, with a balance of over ₦2.13 billion.

It is important to stress that funds tied to specific projects or set aside for particular purposes were not even included in the over ₦75 billion in savings we left behind.

If anybody can establish anything to the contrary, I will stop campaigning. -PO

I agree.

My marriage to my wife has taught me that marriage is a partnership, not competition.

The years leading to our marriage were turbulent for me. But the day I married this woman was the day I married peace into my life.

I married her into extreme lack. She endured the months when there was hardly any money, when we trekked long distances, and when even feeding was a struggle. There was a period when, as a breastfeeding mother, what I could afford was sometimes pap and beans.😃

Then abundance came. Then scarcity came again. We have seen different seasons together.

When I was struggling to raise money for the yoghurt business, she took ₦1 million from her cooperative to support the dream.

When her own career brought an opportunity for us to relocate abroad, it became my turn to stand behind her dream.

When I moved to the UK, she paid a year’s rent plus a huge deposit and took care of me and our four children while I found my feet.

This is what I understand marriage to be.

It is not about keeping score: “I brought this, you brought that.” Sometimes one person carries more financially. Sometimes the other does. Seasons change.

But through every season, you should know: this person has my back, and I have theirs.

And perhaps one of the things I treasure most is this: in all the years we have been married, through lack, abundance, relocation, raising four children, business failures and successes, I cannot remember one day that my wife deliberately disrespected me or use any negative words on me.

Marriage is two people saying:

“This is OUR life. This is OUR home. These are OUR responsibilities. These are OUR dreams. We will build them together.”

Choose someone who has your back and be the kind of person who has theirs too.

The best way to honour someone who did a lot for you but regressed into someone you can no longer respect, is to remember the best version of them and be thankful for what they did for you. Even if they ultimately failed you, they gave you a great gift as proof of their love.

As a minister who walks in power, there is a particular kind of phone call that can be difficult to engage.

It is the call where someone is sharing a testimony of what God did for them after you prayed for them, while you are still trusting God for that same thing in your own life.

You prayed, and it happened for them.

You spoke by the Spirit, and their situation changed quickly.

Yet when you look at your own life, the same matter seems to be taking longer.

I remember a season when a brother came to me because they were experiencing difficulties in their ministry. I prayed for him, and by prophecy, I received an instruction from God concerning a meeting they were to hold. I told him exactly what the Lord had shown me and encouraged him to run with it.

They obeyed.

From that meeting, their ministry grew from about 20 members to almost 1,000 people in crusade attendance.

And there I was, rejoicing over what God had done through the instruction He gave me for someone else, while we were still struggling with numbers ourselves.

I remember the day he called me to testify.
It was the hardest call I had ever hung up.

I kept asking myself “have I committed a sin? Why is mine not working?”

Those seasons in ministry will test whether you truly believe the grace you carry.

Can you celebrate the healing in another person’s body while believing God for yours?

Can you rejoice over someone’s increase when you are still waiting for your own?

Can you faithfully give others the word that will change their lives, even when you are still waiting for a word to manifest in yours?

One of the mysteries of ministry is that God can make you an answer to someone else’s prayer while you are still praying about the same thing in your own life.

Do not let the delay in your own life make you doubt the authenticity of what God is doing through you.

Sometimes, the hand God uses to lift others is still waiting for its own lifting.

But if God can do it through you, never conclude that He has forgotten to do it for you.

Sometimes, when you are standing in the middle of the fire, you cannot see all the ways Jesus is protecting you, strengthening you, and carrying you through.
But His presence in your life may be more visible to others than you realize.
Keep walking.
The fire may surround you, but you are not walking through it alone.
You may not always be able to see what God is doing while you're in the middle of it. But He is there.

If you walk in raw power, do not be deceived by these people.

They will tell you stories of Apostle Ayo Babalola. They will recount the unbelievable exploits of the fathers. They will shout, “God of our fathers!” They will say they are desperate to see those days again.

Ah! Do not be deceived.

For the moment you begin to tell them about the exploits of your own life, the miracles you have witnessed, the things God has done through your hands, they may withdraw from you.

They will speak in hush tones.

They will call you strange.

At worst, they will whisper that you are using a familiar spirit.

Do not be deceived into thinking that everyone who celebrates yesterday’s power has the capacity to recognize today’s manifestation.

Do not tell them about every strange instruction God gives you. They will call you mad. They will warn others not to become “weird” like you. They will tell you that your church will never grow if you continue like this.

Yet the fathers they celebrate were not always conventional.

Apostle Babalola himself was a man of unusual dealings with God. He once walked almost naked in Odo Owa Efon Alaye, disfiguring himself as a sign from heaven! Imagine that happened today!

Strange instructions did not stop the work from growing. Uncomfortable consecrations did not diminish the harvest. The secret dealings, the prayers, the fastings, the sacrifices made in obscurity, prayers while kneeling on stones, the long walks, the long uncomfortable unconventional prayer styles (that I am not at liberty to share here because it is not my place to share what is done in the dark, that keeps the light burning) etc did not reduce their churches. These were not designed for public approval.

Once again, the light everyone publicly desires, is often sustained by dealings that happened privately.

And there are things done in the secret place that should remain there, not because we are trying to be mysterious, but because not every instruction from God is for public consumption.

So hear me:

Be a blessing. Heal the sick. Raise men. Serve your generation. Let your life speak.

But keep your secrets.

Not everybody celebrating the exploits of the fathers is prepared for the realities that produced those exploits.

Do not be deceived by these people.

The same generation that cries for revival may crucify the present vessel in whom the elements of the revival dwells, because genuine moves of God rarely arrive looking like the traditions of men.

It is well.
