In another hadith we read:

إنه لا يستغاث بي، إنما يستغاث بالله

“I (i.e., the Prophet) am not asked for help (istighathah). Only Allah is asked for help.” (Tabarani)

Shaykh al-Islam Abu al-Abbas ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, commented upon the last hadith:

وهو صالح للاعتضاد ودل على معناه الكتاب والسنة

"It is acceptable for supportive evidence, and its meaning is corroborated by the Quran and the Sunnah."
