⚠️ Security Alert: Please be careful when using @farasugapps .
Last night at around 8:00 p.m., I ordered a Faras ride. Halfway through the journey, I the driver ended the trip while I was still proceeding with my journey. Luckily, I was holding my phone and saw it immediately.
I asked him several times why he had ended the ride before reaching my destination , but he didn’t respond and just kept driving. I had to talk to him in atough way asking him to stop so I could get out.
This is a serious safety concern. If something had happened after the driver cancelled the trip, the app would show that the ride had already ended, making it difficult to prove I was still with the driver.
@farasugapps , please consider confirming with passengers whenever a driver cancels or ends a trip before reaching the destination. A simple call or in-app confirmation could help protect passengers, especially if they haven’t noticed the trip was cancelled.
I’m sharing this so others stay alert. Always keep an eye on your ride status and speak up if something doesn’t seem right.
If I could write a letter to my younger self, I wouldn’t start by talking about money, business or success.
I’d simply say, “Spend more time with farmers.”
Everything I know about patience, I’ve learned from coffee and cocoa farmers. They plant knowing they won’t harvest tomorrow. They wake up every season believing the next one can be better than the last. They understand that no amount of rushing can make a coffee tree mature before its time.
I would tell my younger self not to be discouraged by slow progress. In agriculture the strongest trees are never the fastest to grow. They take time to develop deep roots and those roots are what keep them standing through storms.
I would also remind him that coffee and cocoa are more than commodities. They are stories, families, dreams and livelihoods. Every bag that leaves Uganda carries years of sacrifice from people whose names the world may never know. Never forget that responsibility.
Most importantly, I would tell him that the future of our industry will not be built by people who only chase the highest price. It will be built by those who invest in quality, relationships, branding and the next generation of farmers and entrepreneurs.
So to every young person finding their place in the coffee and cocoa sector, don’t compare your journey to someone else’s harvest. Focus on your roots. Learn every day. Serve with integrity. Build something that will still be standing long after you’re gone.
After all, the best coffee doesn’t come from the tree that grows the fastest. It comes from the one that was given time, care and the right conditions to reach its full potential.
For God and my country
