🌈 Celebrating Pride in Maritime Day! ⚓
Now, in its fourth year, Pride in Maritime Day is a moment to champion inclusivity and ensure the maritime sector is a place where everyone can thrive, no matter who they are.
We’re devastated by the horrific news out of Germany. The ITF stands in solidarity with our friends and colleagues at ver.di during this tragic time. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.

💙 Why join a union this @The_TUC#HeartUnionsWeek? 💙
This year’s theme is “Unions make work pay”—and the numbers prove it. Union members earn significantly more over their working lives compared to non-union workers. At Nautilus International, we’ve fought hard to secure real pay increases for our members, with an average 5.9% pay rise in 2024 across all sectors. 🚢⚓
When workers unite, employers listen. That’s why recruiting more colleagues to join the union makes a real difference when negotiating for better wages, benefits, and working conditions.
But unions don’t just negotiate pay. Nautilus is also lobbying Westminster to push for stronger protections that ensure maritime professionals are paid and treated fairly for the essential work they do.
This #HeartUnions week, we’re celebrating the power of unions and the real difference they make in workers’ lives. Because when we stand together, we win.

An unprecedented strike by RFA Officers is underway today.
RFA pay is way below commercial equivalents and they have suffered a real terms pay cut of over 30% since 2010.
(Note: the entire wage bill for the RFA is just £94M per year)

🚨 ROYAL FLEET AUXILIARY STRIKE 🚨
Tomorrow, members at the RFA will carry out a day of strike action.
This is the first time in the history of the RFA that officers will take strike action.
Nautilus will be maintaining a presence near Cammell Laird shipyard Birkenhead; Whale Island, Portsmouth and Portland, Dorset.
Our members are overworked, underpaid and undervalued.

Rising corporate profits were the largest contributor to Europe’s inflation over the past two years as companies increased prices by more than the spiking costs of imported energy. https://t.co/iEf6Emu0Rp

The Transport Secretary claims we are not standing in solidarity with Ukraine when he knows that we have stood with the people of Ukraine much longer than he has. Both the ASLEF General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary have visited Ukraine (1/4)
🚨 Big News 🚨
🇫🇷 ❌ Nautilus International has welcomed a proposed ‘three strikes and out’ French law to block low-wage ferry companies from ports ❌ 🇫🇷
🚢 The law also seeks to prevent unsafe tours of duty through a provision that time worked should be equal to time off 🚢
🚨 P&O FERRIES ANNIVERSARY 🚨
Despite the promises last year, govt have failed to act.
Another P&O Ferries will happen again.
We demand:
✅Close loopholes
✅Ban on fire & rehire
✅Minimum wage corridors including safe roster patterns
✅Compulsory seafarers welfare charter
