Traces of Texas Twitter readers @BYUArlingtonTN graciously shared these two photos, which come with quite a story. In March, 1969 his grandfather and his dad were in the pickup truck near Salado when his grandfather had a stroke. His dad got his grandfather to his house, which was only 1/4 of a mile away. His house was situated right next to the windmill, but is now gone. His grandmother got his grandfather to eat a bit of soup but he died shortly thereafter, on March 15, 1969. How sad is that? I sometimes see these old trucks when I'm out and about, maybe in a field somewhere or behind somebody's house, and wonder what the story is. Although it's a sad story, I'm glad the old truck is still around, and the windmill, too.

Thank you, Pastafarian. It makes me wonder about the stories behind some of the stuff we pass by daily. We never know.
