Heres my guess. The man had ridden Goliath prior and knew the area where the automated camera takes the rider photos. He may have intentionally only clicked his restraint down to one click as he may have been planning to get a unique rider photo by standing up and waving his hands or something. The one click of the restraint gave him enough leeway to stand up but he the G forces of the turn were too much for him to remain stable and he was thrown out as he stood up.

What are the odds of this happening at the exact moment the rider camera happens to take photos? I’m not ruling out a major malfunction of the restraint as the cause, just spitballing.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the victim. Very sad to see.
