making software just for the ones I love is the most motivating work i've ever done. on a road trip to DC my boys burned through dozens of stories in universes we made up together, in a tool i'd spun up for the trip. they're growing up with heroes, paper dolls, chapter books, read-aloud audio, all more alive because they choose where it goes
@erikphoel Super tough was my experience too! I'm in Al infra by day, so I built a small engine on the side that scores books on reading level and content intensity, with the specific beats called out.
Here is a sample card for The Jungle Book. DM me any title and l'll run it for you.
Teaching my then-4yo to read is one of the best parenting choices I’ve made. Now, at 5, he devours books as fast as I can bring them in the house. How are you keeping your little guy stocked in material that is challenging enough to be interesting but emotionally appropriate for his tender age?
@WilliamBryk How did you guys get your X accounts restored? Orchid Labs offered your Twitter-mcp in our mcp marketplace and caught an X ban because of it. X legal just ignores all appeals.
Yeah, I’d end up on the balls of my feet and even fell forward a couple times (use your safeties, folks).
TBC, I wasn’t looking for a personal debug, although I’m grateful for any advice. I just couldn’t find any clear discussion of how the squat mechanics shift vs standard low bar for the marrs bar, specifically.
lol, maybe it’s that I’ve been treating it too much like a high bar: less constrained forward knee travel, more upright back. I found I couldn’t hit depth for fear of toppling backward.
When I first got the marrs bar I just treated it like the straight bar in low bar position, but I found myself pitching forward coming out of the hole a few times and got advice to switch to more high bar movement.
The Buterlian Jihad is going to get much worse and even more disconnected from reality. What is at stake is more than jobs, etc. At stake is an entire ontological investment in how the world works that is being turned inside out by folded bits of sand doing brain stuff.
In 2016, head spinning, I discovered Chapo and found myself losing myself in laughter for the first time in a long time.
The frustrating thing about Chapo is that the stance is, at heart, cynical. The scary thing about that is that it is proven right over and over. The lathe of heaven loves dogs.
