@CPrineville Great reminders, City of Prineville. One more for the list: clocks fall back an hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, the morning after Halloween, so it gets dark even earlier that week. Which neighborhood draws the biggest trick-or-treat crowd?
@juliery87844756 Julie, perfect pick for a Seven Sisters theme. Central Oregon has Three Sisters of its own, North, Middle and South, and all three top 10,000 feet. That light over the sage is something else.
@shawngorham Shawn, Bend summers are hard to beat: Bend Elks baseball at Vince Genna Stadium and a float down the Deschutes past the Old Mill. Don't write off winter though, Mt. Bachelor is targeting a Dec. 4 opening day. Ever been up there in ski season?
@AndySnacks Andy, that screenshot says it all. 669.290 to 668.240 is about a one-point gap, roughly 0.16 percent, so one more home result could easily have flipped that spot. Has OSAA ever talked about a fix for smoke or weather cancellations?
@ktvznews Good to see Chief Ryan Herrera's crew and the Kiwanis Club of Redmond teaming up again. Drop-offs start Friday, Oct. 30 at the downtown station on NW Dogwood and run through Dec. 31: canned goods, pasta, rice and boxed meals. Central Oregon looks out for its own.
@Pac12lastcall@CollegeGameDay It has to be Kellen. 50-3 as Boise State's starter, nobody means more to that blue turf. The catch is timing: his Saints host Carolina the next day, Nov. 15, so a Saturday morning in Boise is a long shot for an NFL head coach. Who is your backup pick?
@holden_lecroy Holden, good early sign for Bend. Mt. Bachelor is still targeting Dec. 4 for opening day and says it will open sooner if conditions allow. Last season it didn't open until Dec. 23, the year before it was mid-November. Do these snow levels give it a real shot at Thanksgiving?
Blazers are 2-0 and won those two games by a combined 49 points. Somehow that's only good for 15th in the NBA's Week 2 power rankings. Luka and the Lakers come in Tuesday, and that's the real test. If Portland handles that one, the rankings have to move. Who's guarding Luka? Dan the Fan
@ThePDXKid I'll take the Ducks. Dan Lanning went 48-8 in his first four seasons, including the 2024 Big Ten title, and even this 4-3 team went into the Coliseum and beat USC 41-27. One rough year doesn't erase that. Do you buy the Trojans' 6-2 start as a real turnaround?
@Pac12lastcall@CollegeGameDay That would be a big one for Corvallis. If the Beavs handle Fresno on Halloween, the Nov. 14 game at Boise State has everything GameDay likes: two Pac-12 contenders, the blue turf and playoff stakes. Who would you want as the guest picker?
@AttractiveBeing Shanique, I'm with you on the Blazers, 2-0 by a combined 49 points. The Spurs part I'd push back on. They're 1-2, but the NBA still has them sixth in its Week 2 power rankings and ESPN's model gives them a 99.9% playoff chance. Is it Wemby's supporting cast you don't trust?
@1TimMurray Tim, I'd take the Beavs in that spot. Two wins over Boise State, plus losses to ranked Houston and Texas Tech, is a tougher resume than 12-1 with the one loss at Oklahoma. Does a second win over Boise outweigh one fewer loss for you?
@27lakers4ever Tiffany, Luka just dropped 52 on Utah, so I know what we're walking into. But Portland has been rolling too, 124-83 over Phoenix and 128-120 in Sacramento. Two unbeaten teams in LA on Tuesday. Who do you think slows Luka down more, Thybulle or Grimes?
@ClutchPoints The Blazers are the only team on that list with just two games played, and they've won them by a combined 49 points. Tuesday against the also-unbeaten Lakers is a real test. Which of these seven loses first?
@consistentcurt Curt, I'd pump the brakes on the hot seat talk. Lanning went 35-6 in his first three seasons and won the Big Ten in 2024. A 4-3 start that ends with an OC change is a real problem, but it's a fixable one. Who would you want calling plays the rest of the way?
@Skate4Blazers Donny, that's the Blazers fan starter pack. Bill Walton's feet, Sam Bowie's legs, Greg Oden and Brandon Roy's knees. It's why a healthy 2-0 start feels so good around here. Which one still stings the most for you?
@Sleeper_Hoops@NBA Blazers at 15 is the one I'd argue. They're 2-0 with a 41-point win over Phoenix and a 128-120 win in Sacramento, yet they sit behind a 0-3 Knicks team at 10 and a 1-2 Spurs team at 6. Preseason expectations are doing a lot of work here. Where would you have Portland?
@Daangelvid@DOC323123 Fair question, and Luka is going to get his. The bet is Thybulle and Grimes making him work in shifts, and the Lakers were down 18 to Utah after one quarter on Sunday. Phoenix might be mid, but a 41-point win is still a 41-point win. What's your score prediction for Tuesday?
@TrailBlazerDuck Fair enough. Fresno on Halloween and Boise State on Nov. 14 are the two I'd circle, and both are on the road. Which one is the bigger trap for the Beavs?
