"Agent" has become a demo word.
Real test: does it run while you're asleep, use your actual tools, and know when to stop and ask you?
If it only works while you babysit it in a chat window, that's not an agent. That's autocomplete with ambition.
Every agent I run is under version control and snapshotted every 15 minutes.
Not because I'm paranoid. Because an agent you can't roll back is an agent you can't trust to run alone.
Boring infra is what turns a demo into something you actually rely on.
My agents can scan markets, run my schedule, draft my writing, and watch my systems.
They cannot move money.
Propose, I dispose. Anything irreversible waits for a human.
Autonomy without guardrails isn't a product. It's a liability with good marketing.

My morning agent can suggest exactly one improvement a day.
Not a backlog. One.
AI's problem was never that it's dumb. It's that it's tireless and will hand you 40 fixes you'll never do.
One good suggestion a day compounds. A list just guilts you.

@itsvlady Exactly. The teardown can tell you which models, not when and why. That decision layer is the whole product, and it only shows up after months of watching real users.
Someone ran the teardown.
An AI product sells a "proprietary core model." I use it daily, I'm a fan: it acts before you ask.
Under the hood: 3 frontier labs + smart routing.
Not the weakness. "Proprietary" is. Own the routing. It survives the teardown.

Jev, TypeSafe's new model, is a sharp idea.
Instead of prompting for JSON and hoping, you define a typed schema. The model answers only inside it, with a confidence score that routes what a human reviews.
The model judges, your code computes. Live as typesafe-ai/jev.
Built a system that scans Polymarket and Kalshi for the same event priced differently, then acts on the gap.
Open-sourced a light version: scanner, execution engine, backtester.
The hard part was never the math. It was the plumbing and edge cases.

Everyone's shipping AI agents. Few ask what happens when the agent reads a web page telling it what to do.
Prompt injection isn't a corner case. It's the default threat model once your agent touches the open internet.
Build like the input is hostile, because it is.
